Re: Republicans overturning elections they don't like
quote:
But I mostly just want to address the complaint about the rumblings concerning impeaching the next Democratic President the way they are going about impeaching Trump
The actual argument is that if the Democrats dare to impeach Trump just because he’s been caught abusing his powers in a totally unacceptable way, then the Republicans should run a completely fake impeachment of the next Democrat to hold the Presidency.
quote:
The argument is that the totally partisan illegal methods being used in this current sham impeachment have to be confronted if there is any chance to save our republic, meaning also save "democracy, civility and truth" because the Democrats have undermined these values in their zeal to overturn the legitimate election of Trump
In reality the position is that he Republicans have thrown out civility and truth and now threaten the Republic, all in the name of protecting a corrupt President. The idea that two wrongs make a right is absurd enough - the idea that you can correct an imaginary wrong with a genuine wrong staggers belief.
No, the people making this suggestion are liars and traitors.

Truth IS what Faith calls character assassination.
Although she really loves false accusations when they are made against anyone she hates.

Re: Just a note
You will also note that it is neither an argument nor even a reply to you. It is aso a fact that most of us are all too aware of.

Re: Just a note

Wow what a slimy justification for a violation that is
Actually I’m pointing out that you get away with worse.
If you want slimy this is a good example:
quote:
Kind of reminds me though of how liberals operate in general
quote:
But personal attack IS against the rules here, and yours is an entire post that is nothing but.
But your real objection is that it’s true. There is no sensible reason for picking out that post and demanding sanctions. You might as well ignore it.

Re: Republicans overturning elections they don't like
quote:
That is exactly what they hope to stop by impeaching the next Democrat President, saying that if this sham impeachment is allowed to stand as if it's legitimate THAT is what will bring down the country.
Of course it is legitimate. And it won’t bring down the country at all. The Right want to. Ring down the country because they won’t accept a legitimate impeachment of their president.
quote:
I don't get this reasoning myself quite,
The reasoning is quite simple - the Constitution gets in the way of tyranny, therefore the Constitution must go.
There is no way that anybody could see it as a way of defending the Constitution.
quote:
... but I do understand that if something isn't done to counteract and expose the unconstitutionality and purely partisan motivations of this attack on Trump it has to undermine the nation.
You dress it in lies but it’s still just a call to destroy the Constitution in the name of removing any checks and balances that might hinder the executive - no matter how corrupt the executive might be. At least as long as the executive is Republican. That looks like an attempt to undermine the nation to me.

Re: Republicans overturning elections they don't like
I know you love your name calling but unless you can back it up - which is pretty hard when you’re actually defending corruption - it’s just nastiness.
So how about some actual argument, real evidence instead of denial and false accusations.
