Did the Flood really happen?

I'm beginning this thread to redirect a flood discussion that has broken out over at the A test for claimed knowledge of how macroevolution occurs thread, which is about evolution. The first post over there to mention the flood was Message 644.

Please describe this problem in greater detail so I can replicate and fix.

Emphasis in the science forums is on fact based discussion. Assertions unsupported by facts should be avoided. Familiarity with the major consensuses of science and the supporting data is expected. Science threads with specific topics should not be turned into remedial science courses.There's a good reason for this. Without this the basics of science could be challenged in every science thread, turning them all into discussions of science basics instead of the original topic.Challenging any particular basic aspect of science should be done in separate threads which can be proposed over at Proposed New Topics.Edited by Admin, : Grammar.

I've been too busy to moderate lately but I'm going to attempt to begin moderating both this thread and the Age Correlations and An Old Earth, Version 2 No 1 thread.Going forward all posts should be evidence based. All content-free or snarky posting should cease. When someone posts several such messages I'll issue a one day suspension.

Those responding to mike the wiz should read Message 2 of Mike's Everyone is a bible literalist or nobody is thread proposal.Mike's recent Message 2360 is just a cut-n-paste of his earlier Message 255. Of the 5 replies to that message, Mike replied to none of them.
