We on the Right take it as simple truth, and since there is no evidence whatever of a quid pro quo our position seems the valid one.
We do have evidence of a quid pro quo. We have Trump's own staff stating clearly that there was a quid pro quo. Even Mulvaney stated that there was a quid pro quo live on television. He said to get over it.
Trump wanted only, all along, from the beginning, it's what he actually said in the phone call, that Zelensky would look into the corruptions in his own country that involved interference in our elections.
Trump asked Zelensky to investigate the Bidens. What in the world does that have to do with interference in our elections?
He later added they should look into the allegations concerning Biden's quid pro quo to fire a prosecutor who was looking into the company where his son worked, or he'd withhold billions in aid.
Trump would only need to look into our own records in the US to find the truth. Why didn't he? If Biden did something wrong, then why not start an investigation here in the US? We know why Trump didn't do this, because Biden didn't do anything wrong. Biden was following US policy and supporting national interests when he pushed for the firing of a corrupt Ukrainian prosecutor who was refusing to pursue investigations of corruption. Biden was fighting corruption in Ukraine with the support of the US government and the governments of our allies.
All Trump wanted was for Zelensky to get on TV and call Biden a criminal. Trump didn't care if an investigation actually went forward, he just wanted the sound bite.
