30 years ago, February 14, 1990, Voyager 1 turned its camera back along its path and captured this image.

Getting Carl to sit still for the 5 1/2 hours it took to snap the photo from that distance was a bit of a challenge. That's why he's not in sharper focus. Still, not bad for a 1970's technology.
