Re: Less than 25,000 U.S. deaths in June, with 3 days to go.
The death rate will be operating under somewhat different dynamics with the increased testing alone.
Nebraska had around 14500 cases of infection with 186 deaths on June 3.
Now it is 18775 cases with 267 deaths. Fully 1 percent of the state is or had been Covid positive. The 80 deaths on the last 25 days would extrapolate to about 13,000 nationwide. Nebraska seems to gave more testing , and that makes a difference.

Clarification on increased testing and cases.
I meant that the increased testing allows the infected to do something about the infection.
Self quarantine.
That equals less deaths.
The responses seemed to think I was talking about infection statistics this month being an orange compared to the apple infections that were from past months infection statistics. It MIGHT be that the apples and oranges factor is true with respect to the relative monthly infection rates, but I was looking at death rates.
I might have mixed several things though.

Re: Less than 25,000 U.S. deaths in June, with 3 days to go.
Explain the 0.79 to 0.7 numbers. I actually have not been able to figure out which numbers you were talking about.
The deaths per million are presently at 392 per million in the US.
Texas is 80 per million.
Florida and Ohio are at 160, roughly.
Arizona is around 220.
New Jersey is 1700
New York 1600 deaths per million.
You said we would have 200,000 Covid deaths by Jan 1, 2021. We are already almost 129,000.

Just as July 3 is starting EST, under 131,000 deaths.
That means there were around 27.000 deaths in June.
The lowest since the modern monthly Corona era began in April 2020.
What will July bring?
I say ... more or less.
Remember where you heard it first.

Nebraska or Lincoln just issues some draconian rules.
I have not been on th he internet or watching television for about 3 weeks.
I just found out that a mask is required for any public place.
Went into effect today.
I was told that cases and deaths were up by a large amount.
I just checked the net. WorldMeters showed Nebraska has 22,583 confirmed infections and 301 if those as deaths. The national death rate is 143,718, which h means about 13,000 to 14,000 nationally in July. 3 weeks in.
Nebraska is under a 1.4% death rate. Low for deaths to confirmed cases. And a very low overall death rate of 1 per 6,000 residents. So far .
So I fail to see why we need such draconian rules. This virus is not asbestos insulation type stuff. I am about to find out if a mask is required to be on while somebody eats or drinks. Imagine the bacteria risk. Imagine the bacteria risk from people reusing filthy masks thrown on the floor and God knows what else.
The death rates are way down, nationally, since states started to open up in early June.
We were about to see 25,000 deaths this month, based on what I saw.
For a virus that around 10 percent of the population has already caught. A virus that could have a death rate under 0.2 percent per infection, especially for the non elderly. Notice how we don't protect the population from industrial chemicals and elements that cause most cancers , yet we torture everyone and destroy the economy over a virus that is more bark than bite.
And, I say this ad somebody who is big on preparation for future viruses and bacteria. Including mask stockpiles and all.
