This new topic will focus on the campaign promises and rhetoric from Joe Biden and the Democratic Party.

To start with, this was in todays news:
Biden Counters Trump's 'America First' With 'Build Back Better' Economic Plan

My only question is where America will get all of this money for future stimulus plans and economic jumpstarts? I fear we will hyperinflate and/or go broke as jars ominous pronouncement of The Bill Will Get Paid comes home to roost.

Taxes wont begin to cover it.

Re: Dollars, Taxes
But its all a ponzi scheme. Some suggest that the real debt that hangs over our head is closer to 90 trillion than 22 trillion. And whether true or not, the point is that we already have to pay a large chunk of our taxes merely to fund this insane debt. We are in a recession...more heading towards a depression...man are unemployed and the idea that we the middle(working class) should have to dig deeper in our already scare pockets to fund increased taxes in order to help the humane social programs that make up the social safety net wont go over well.

Of course the critics say that we had to bolster the big banks and corporations in order to keep them from collapsing...or else the rich kids would simply gather up all their toys and go home. And to be fair, i'm all for helping out the poor downtrodden masses....particularly in this country--i'm in no hurry to bail out the whole world! Look...even as Christians, we need a certain amount of money to pay our bills--our rents, mortgages, car payments, health care and the idea of milking the middle class consumer to alleviate social crises is necessary yet not gonna be popular.

The Republicans helped small business...they bailed that out....which was and is necessary as many small businesses are on the verge of collapse due to the quarantine. Increasing taxes will help the social safety net, though I honestly think that this whole Ponzi schematic house of cards will in fact implode within ten years. I've been wrong before though....it would be nice to keep the music playing and the masses working. But now Covid-19 is spiking again...and likely will have a third wave.

This type of economic societal future will be one of the main causes for the revival of which I speak. In your guys world view, fear will drive people to irrational religious zealotry, and to an extent I agree---though I honestly think we are in some trying times and as a believer I will always pray more than simply reading the news and being a good little lemming.

ringo writes:

Why not?

First of all, it makes little sense to fund future stimulus checks by raising taxes. We pay out as much or more than we would recoup through a stimulus check. Second of all, those of us who are ourselves in the next to lowest quadrant of economic earnings dont have room to pay higher taxes. Perhaps the 2nd quadrant could afford it...we all know the 1st quadrant earns the lions share of profits and could well afford higher taxes but for some reason you have never favored taxing anyone but the working class itself. And i'm here to tell you right now that at least in my case I barely have $3,000.00 a year left over after paying all my bills and usually that too gets used. Were they to take that profit for increased taxes, I would actually fare worse. I do need to save aside something for retirement, though I doubt if I can reach my goal of one years earnings saved aside.

The point is that increasing taxes is not going to cover the needs that the masses require and its silly anyway seeing as the government has traditionally bailed out big business more so than the little people.

Its The Money, Stupid
Obama was far from perfect, but in my mind he was a better statesman and communicator. He came across as a likeable guy. We need to reform our global image. We are too old and bankrupt to play global cop much longer. And as I said in my previous post, its all about money. For Biden to get my vote, he best leave my taxes alone and quit leaning so hard on the working class. We are the ones who need a break.

Sarah Bellum, addressing ringo writes:

You'd laugh at me if I told you to vote for Trump if I said, "He can change, in his second term he'll do things in ways more to your liking."

Wouldn't you?

I was with some of my Charismaniac Christian friends last night. Lots of them believe that Trump was prophesied to get a second term. They claim that the prophecy essentially says that Trump"whispers the name of Jesus" in his first term and will end up "shouting the name of Jesus" in his second term.

The main reason that "they" don't like Biden is because they essentially see the entire Leftist platform as being secular humanist, atheist, unrealistic(as in "where will the money come from?) and probably quite simply due to the fact that Biden will support Palestine as much as Israel, if not more. I really dont know what he thinks about abortion, but that will figure in big too.

nOK I'll go with that. I look at money as a giant game of musical chairs. The music needs to keep playing in order for the money to have value for everyone. If the music stops, only the top quadrents will have anything worth saving..(real estate, material goods, gold, and perhaps armed security which they will have to pay)
Phat writes:

Second of all, those of us who are ourselves in the next to lowest quadrant of economic earnings dont have room to pay higher taxes.

ringo writes:

Tell it to those of us in the lowest quadrant.

We have had this argument before. Your inner socialist knows that he cant get money out of the proliteriat any more than blood out of a turnip so he wants the rest of us to become comrades.

Phat writes:

And i'm here to tell you right now that at least in my case I barely have $3,000.00 a year left over after paying all my bills and usually that too gets used.

ringo writes:

So you could pay extra taxes on that $3,000. I have to spend everything I make.

And if Biden gets in, likely so will I. Why should I become a fellow comrade?

Phat writes:

Were they to take that profit for increased taxes, I would actually fare worse.

ringo writes:

Some people already do fare worse.

I know. I see it every day. The next 6 months will be tough. I've already whined about the stealing going on at my store. I prayed about it and God basically told me to pray for them(the thieves) and to not try and be an authoritarian cop. Unless I wanted to be an armed security guard working for some rich guy.

Phat writes:

The point is that increasing taxes is not going to cover the needs that the masses require....

ringo writes:

I don't know why you're so desperate to hoist yourself above the masses.

Because the masses are not doing so well right now. Why the heck should I be poor just because the comrades want me to join them? This whole global game of money sucks. We all need Jesus. The humanist kum-ba-yah crowd wont make a better world in and of themselves. Everyone will simply be forced to join together in some weird societal communion that has no head. A headless beast.

Spy Vs Spy
I warned you before not to spam this thread---it is intended to be more of a political thread than a religious one, though I do note that while jar and a few other Biden supporters predict (and hope) that Trump and his inner circle are locked up and in prison (just as Trump at one time wanted old Hillary Clinton locked up )

You seem intent on hating what Biden stands for based on the assertion that he is

  • Not a Catholic and was chastised by an actual Priest
  • Is Pro-Choice and is representing the Liberal side of politics.

Then you attack the Liberals for trashing Catholicism. The other side attacks the Conservatives for betraying the "people"...though nearly half of these people voted for them. So in essence what we have is not a case of good versus evil in regards to political parties and ideologies. What we have is a search for evil within the human spirit and human condition.

Were I moderating a room of voters from both political parties, I would ask everyone WHO they saw as the enemy within the human condition. Is it simply Conservatism? Is it Liberalism? Is it Christianity? Catholicism? Atheism? Secular Humanism? The second question I would ask them collectively is what course should America take for the next decade and why?

I would say that my belief is basically what I was taught through scripture.

    Ephesians 6:12 ESV writes:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Behind Bars. The CCCP should all be locked up too.
Not to sound too Pro Republican, but I tend to lean more Conservative than I do Liberal duee to the hope that at least some Conservatives worship the Creator of all seen and unseen through His Son Jesus Christ and not simply the puny God that is on the money. The Liberals by and large seem less Christian to me...they are all kum-ba-yah secular humanists and globalists.
We all are swayed by emotion and poisoned by disinformation, however.
The Battle Against Disinformation Is Global

You once accused me of creating the God that I want. Perhaps that charge carries some truth to it. I dont know if I would be content with a God Who wants the already beleaguered Middle Class to give all that they have to help the poor...of not just the US but the whole World!

Trump or Biden, which candidate does China want in the White House?. Interesting. So China basically goes with Biden while Russia again wants to use Trump as their puppet of choice. Or maybe he just owes them money for cheap loans...I really don't know.

I really do need to learn to think more and react less based on raw emotion.

    Is This True?
I recently was shown by my sister why it is so important that Trump not get back in.
Social Security Cuts Could Happen in 3 Years If Trump's Payroll Tax Break Is Made Permanent.
    quote:
Currently, workers pay a 6.2% Social Security tax on up to $137,700 of earnings. Under the president's order, workers earning up to $104,000 per year won't have to pay that 6.2% for the next four months, leaving them with larger paychecks.

Now to be clear, the president only has the authority to defer those payroll taxes right now. But he's also pledged that if he's reelected in November, he'll seek to permanently forgive them. And while that may be good news for workers, at least in theory, it's terrible news as far Social Security is concerned.

If this is part of the Republican Agenda, I wont support it. I need social security or else I will be the homeless guy asking for spare change!

“We must realize that the Reformation world view leads in the direction of government freedom. But the humanist world view with inevitable certainty leads in the direction of statism. This is so because humanists, having no god, must put something at the center, and it is inevitably society, government, or the state.”- Francis A. Schaeffer

    Re: Next Stop: HELL
But you don't believe that, do you, Tangle?

Getting back to the election, it is being said by many that these 2020 Elections are some of the most important elections in the history of our republic.

It would be advised for everyone to really look at the issues and understand how each side thinks an believes and why. It is no sin to read the belief statements of the opposition. Only when you actually understand how another man thinks can you honestly form an opinion and belief which either opposes them or comes to a consensual agreement with them.
