True. And that's a reaction caused by distrust of white "solutions" in general. In Canada, for instance, why would indigenous people trust any solutions from the people who "solved" their education problem by abducting their children and forcing them into abusive residential schools? Maybe white people don't really have minorities' best interests at heart?
