I wasn't going to bother but as Percy has had the patience to do it... Deaths from vaccination in the UK from the official ONS (Office of National Statistics - who are very good btw)

Director of the CDC says that "over 75% of covid deaths happened in people with at least 4 comorbidities. These are people who were unwell to begin with" I have no idea where that comes from but it's highly likely now that because of the very high level of immunity from the vaccines that it's mostly the very vulnerable that will be killed by this virus (and a proportion of the very stupid.) Of course, without the lockdowns and self-isolation those vulnerable people would have been killed off in the first wave. And without the vaccine they would have all been killed off eventually. All COVID restrictions were removed a couple of weeks ago here. Everything is now back to normal. Everything fully open, almost like COVID never happened. There's a high and increasing rate of infection but it's mostly like having a cold. We're living with it now. Pending a new variant of course.

There's a big uptick in COVID infections. Parts of Japan has gone into lockdown, 30m are in lockdown in China, we're seeing increasing hospitalisations. You Americans are only 35% fully vaccinated - it's coming your way again.

We have the highest level of infections we've ever had. We have no restrictions on anything and mask wearing is a thing of the past. But hospitalisations and deaths from it are low. Here we've moved to the 'living with it' phase. The newest variant is more infectious but no worse that the last - people are treating it like a mild cold. Which seems reasonable actually.

We're all back to normal here. A few weeks ago - also when all restrictions had been lifted - we had the highest infection rate since the beginning of COVID. But hospitalisations were low and deaths very low. We're in the 'living with it' mode now. And infection rates are falling fast.
