Infection rates for the UK have fallen pretty dramatically now. I'd like to give you a graph but the relevant one doesn't want to give me a jpeg uk covid infections - Google Search This is reported infections but the plot is pretty much identical to the ONS survey results. The Office of National Statistics does statistical testing and sampling of the nation to determine real infection rates. We are having a significant new wave of COVID with two new variants of Omicron, BA4 and BA5. Portugal and South Africa had it earlier. Both are forms of Omicron that are mild and our vaccinations still work but they're more contagious and still a threat to vulnerable people. We're never getting shut of this thing.

The vaccines provide a significant reduction in the chances of catching COVID and provide a very high level of protection against severe ilnesses that cause hospitalisations and death. This is now beyond all scientific doubt. Why are you lying?

I wonder what the Covidiots are making of what's happening in China now that the lid has been taken off. Reuters reported that Chinese hospitals have been overwhelmed during the Christmas period as the epidemic rips through the population. The Chinese vaccines aren't terribly good, immunity from prior infection is fairly low given the severity of the lockdown and despite them publishing a 90% vaccination rate half of the over 80s haven't had their third vaccination. It's not looking good there; you get some idea what would have happened without lockdowns and good vaccines.

There are excess deaths around the world compared to pre-COVID. Here in the UK it's well known and reported on. But it's nothing anybody is blaming on vaccines. At least half of it is the fact that people are still dying from COVID, particularly the unvaccinated and elderly with co-morbidities. Long COVID is also causing problems, cardiovascular deaths are occurring months after infection - particularly in the elderly. Our health services themselves are under huge stress trying to catch up with operations and treatments for 'normal' diseases that could not be dealt with during COVID itself. What are you hoping to do here PorkiePie? You realise that you're talking mostly to rational people many of which are also scientists? Do you think you can persuade us with out-of-context charts, no causational evidence and laughing baby giffs? Anyway, yes, as I already agreed, the excess death observation is real and IT HAS BEEN WIDELY REPORTED. It has not been ignored. That's why if you google it you'll get many articles written about t like this one. There are several explanations for these excess deaths. The most obvious is that people are still dying from COVID - mostly the unvaccinated (see graph) but also the elderly. People are also dying from co-morbidities from long COVID, from 'normal' illnesses that could not be treated during COVID, from health services that are still struggling to recover, from spikes of seasonal flu that had been suppressed during lockdowns and from unusual weather events - Europe has a long, very hot drought last summer. No-one, repeat no-one, is blaming the vaccine for any excess deaths except nutters like you. The vaccine is proven safe. Deaths from unvaccinated far exceed vaccinated. Here's Percy's graph again. See that massive peak of deaths of the unvaccinated vs vaccinated - what do you think might possibly explain that? Could it be that it was because they were unvaccinated?
So show causation or stfu.

During the HIV panic they threatened to bite. It was used as a weapon. The law is all about intent, if you know you are infected with a dangerous disease and deliberately or recklessly set out to infect another you're guilty of a serious crime.
