A while ago I had this converstion with a young fellow on another forum:
He: Do you live in Canada?
Me: Yes.
He: Do you live in a province that's easy to draw?

With the wind chill, it's been in the minus 40 (Celsius) range for a few weeks now. Our power plants are winterized.

We had a power outage a while back for an hour and a half. Usually, a power outage around here lasts twenty minutes.

I do have a water cutoff at the house as well as at the meter, but I can't drain the pipes, just de-pressure them.
Around here, the city parks have sprinklers with underground piping only a foot or so below the ground. In fall, they blow them out with compressed air.
