Re: Just looked at polls over a Senate trial.
Liz Cheny's father was called a war criminal and just about everything else by Trump.

What does that have to do with anything?

"and just about everything else" What the hell does that even mean?

Trump specifically told them to fight.

He spent 2 fucking months inciting an insurrection and attempted overthrow of our government. Apparently you haven't been paying attention.

Re: Just looked at polls over a Senate trial.
You took a quote from one of Trump's biggest political adversaries, and presented that as evidence?

The only quote I took was yours.

You are trying and failing to make a false equivalency argument...Oh yeah, your guys were just as bad as mine.

I, along with a global audience, watched fucking Trump and his enablers incite an insurrection to overthrow the United States of America. I watched it and I don't need to quote anyone else about what I saw. He spent two FUCKING months repeating the FUCKING LIE that the election was stolen from him. It was stolen from him alright, by 8 million more voters.

If Trump and his cult are not held accountable for their treason America will die.

Re: Trump's Incitement Filled Speech
LNA writes:

He was presenting her as a warmonger, and you used her attacks on his speech as evidence that he was doing something illegal.

That's a lie. I never quoted Liz Cheney.

I have never read or heard anything Liz Cheney has ever had to say on any subject, ever. I had never heard anything more than her name before the impeachment in the House last week. The only thing I know about her is she voted to impeach, which is what any normal person would do.

I said what I said, and the only person I have "quoted" to you, was YOU. Got it now? I only quoted you.

I didn't provide any evidence, because there are literally thousands of hours of video evidence. If you haven't seen it you're not paying attention.

Correction: Taq was the one who quoted Cheney, but you jumped into our exchange.

No, I just called your bullshit bullshit.

Re: Trump's Incitement Filled Speech
He has the best crashes. The best personal destructions.

Never before in history has a president destroyed himself so completely while trying to destroy the nation.

He has the best destructions.

It was really something to watch wasn't it?

The irony is that if he had actually tried to address Covid19, he might have saved America, he really could have been a hero, but he always takes the low road.

He will be a total clusterfuck in his up coming trials, he just can't help himself.

OK, I think I'm done now. I don't think talking about this shit is fun.

The day after Trump was elected was the worst day of my life! And then the next day was worse, over and over, worse and worse. My sense of dread grew. Yesterday when Joe Biden was sworn in was the best day in 4 years and 2 months. For the first time I feel cautiously hopeful that America will step back from the dark abyss.

Re: Let's all say Trump called for violence. Then refuse to offer any evidence.
The scary thing is people here actually think that they have already made the case.

Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to make a case to you. Instead I was saying your idea of "just move on" is bullshit. And it is not going to happen.

I do get scared when people uncritically believe a conclusion when no examination of the evidence has been made on the part of the believer.

Yep, I don't like that either, but my conclusions are based on the evidence I have seen. I will be interested to see if my conclusions will hold when I see the evidence presented in the trial.

I am wondering if I should pretend this isn't as bad as I know it actually is.

I'm wondering why you care what people on a rather obscure internet forum think, especially since you so often misunderstand what they say. None of us has any influence on what is going to happen to Donald Trump and he is totally responsible for what's going to be his life for the foreseeable future.

Legal representation
Does anyone know what will happen if trump can't find a lawyer to take his impeachment case. They all know he'll stiff them on their fees.

I was really hoping it would be Rudy.

Re: Let's all say Trump called for violence. Then refuse to offer any evidence.
That sure looks like "fighting like hell" to me, just as Trump instructed.

It's also clear from numerous videos that the insurgents believed that Trump instructed them to perpetrate the insurrection and they clearly thought Cruz and the rest of the traitors in Congress also supported them.

Re: The big legal issue I wonder about:
Pretty amusing that Taq, you ( AzPaul), and Tanypteryx used Liz Cheney's impeachment quote as some sort of example of evidence that Trump was guilty of insurrection. See post 17 and the next 10.

You really are a fucking lying sack of shit just like your fucking hero.

I am sorry to have to admit that I was posting on my own ignorance combined with intuition

That's obvious.

Re: Post 73 disambiguation.
Half the time I can't decipher what LNA is on about, but it seems like he has not seen the numerous videos of Trump's bullshit about not letting the Dems steal the election, from before the election until January 6. I'm not sure if it would make a difference to LNA's interpretation of the events leading up to the storming of the Capitol, but by now hundreds of millions, if not billions of people have seen and heard the video record, with more becoming public every day. This is the historical record of these events and it is global.

I suspect that the corruption of the Trump Cult has been more thoroughly recorded than any other regime in the history of the planet. Between tweets and videos it's a huge amount of data. It should all be stored in the Trump Library of Shame.

Or his many, many, many rally quotes where he condones and even encourages physical violence.

That has been a yuge part of his message and the swagger persona he projects. He's never been held accountable before but I hope that's about to change.

Re: Post 73 disambiguation.
And let us not forget that there was plenty of hate for Democrats in general and Nancy Pelosi in particular in addition to that. As well as the fact that the Democrats in the House were sure to block any objections that made it past the Senate. The attack was the only way to win.

And we have to remember that Trump remains a clear and present danger to the US and our national security, if he continues to have access to classified briefings. He is an agent of chaos that must not be allowed to further compromise us.

Trump defense team pleads insanity
Yesterday Trump's 2 lawyers mounted a defense that was insane.

The irony of Trump getting a legal team that is as incompetent as he was as president, is delicious.

Reportedly, trump spent yesterday yelling at the TV.

I admit to a warm, euphoric feeling as I imagine that turd's stress and rage. I hope every single second of the rest of his life is miserable.
