Yes, it is, though I don't know if that was what Percy was suggesting.The Republican party wasn't always that way. And there are still a few Republicans who are not white supremacists. But that is the overall direction that the party has been following in recent years. Most Democrats want those same freedoms. But most Democrats want to share those freedoms with all of their fellow citizens. The Republicans want to be far more exclusive.
