I am baffled what motivates marc9K to post here considering that he must know that everything he says will be fact checked, skeptically scrutinized, and soundly criticized if it's false or misleading.
I don't think marc9000 is even aware that he is spewing falsehoods.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

It seems you may now have been talking about Al Gore conceding to W leading us to 20 years of war, but the text above that says you were still addressing Trump's phony taking credit. Did some text get dropped there?
Yes, he was.
Percy was replying to dwise1, who had mentioned the Gore concession in 2000. And yes, it was a little disjointed unless you went back to the earler dwise1 post to get the context.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

... being the brave global elitist that you appear to be ...
What's with this throwing of insults? Don't you claim to be a Christian? Sure, Republicans like to throw the accusation of "elitist" against Democrats. But if you look up the dictionary meaning of "elitist", it is the Republicans who best fit that definition.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Is it not wise to invest in a financial insurance policy?
Of course, that's wise. But not by buying into gold and silver.
Because that's essentially what Gold and Silver are.
No, they aren't. If anything, they are scams run by some rich people to suck money out of fools like Phat. And it seems to be working -- for those rich scammers. As PT Barnum allegedly said, "there's a sucker born every minute."Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

You guys are wrong about this one.
Here's a question for you -- actually, several questions: (1) Who is selling you this silver? (2) Who is giving you the advice on buying silver? Is it the same person as the seller? (3) If the advice to buy silver is good, why is he selling it? Shouldn't he be holding onto it so that its value will increase. I'm suggesting that the people who are selling silver to you are not following their own advice. Shouldn't that be troubling?Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

To the best of my knowledge, they all also own silver.
The fact remains, that they have apparently decided that they can make more money by selling silver than by owning it.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Either the whites (as a culture club) stay "in power" or by decree affirmative action quotas need to be mandatorily implemented.
Why are you seeing everything as black vs. white? What would be wrong with people working together regardless of skin color?Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

You and I appear to be talking past each other.
I am seeing this as thoroughly dishonest. I'll present it as I see it: Here's the version according to Phatquote: And here's the actual version that I get from reading the thread:
quote:And that's what Tanypteryx was actually replying to. You have completely misrepresented the discussion. I don't know why. Perhaps you wanted to make yourself look good. But it didn't work out that way. You come out of it looking like a shameless sleazy liar.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

The Dems, on the other hand, are morality cops and control police.
This is a mis-reading. Most Dems are "live and let live" people.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Because both sides will never agree on who should be in control.
The whole point of working together, is that you don't need somebody to be in control.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Its just that I don't trust human nature as much as you do.
I don't know where you get that. No, I don't trust human nature. Your problem is that you trust the right wing propaganda, and you are unable to tell when they are lying to you.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

My problem with BLM is that they take it upon themselves to rectify moral issues by targeting an entire group--white people.
I'm white. But I never felt targeted by BLM. As best I can tell, BLM has many white supporters. If you feel targeted, maybe that's your guilty conscience.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Are you suggesting that the Republican Party is a White Supremacist party?
Yes, it is, though I don't know if that was what Percy was suggesting. The Republican party wasn't always that way. And there are still a few Republicans who are not white supremacists. But that is the overall direction that the party has been following in recent years.
Just because a man wants the freedom (unhindered by excessive government regulation and taxation) into earning a living in no way paints him/her as a racist.
Most Democrats want those same freedoms. But most Democrats want to share those freedoms with all of their fellow citizens. The Republicans want to be far more exclusive.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

It will be interesting as to the response you bleeding hearts give to the situation of unabashed and out-of-control looting and shoplifting in San Francisco.
Honestly Phat, I don't understand the point of this. What happened there is not close to what people normally mean by "shoplifting". By misrepresenting it as shoplifting, you only damage your own argument and destroy what little credibility you have left.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity
