Re: Suicide is a survival strategy (for species).
AZPaul3 just relishes the idea that religious extremist minds are broken, but what he doesn't get is that woo has two sides to it.

I and It.
God and all the rest.
Principle: We are NOT God. (AA)

A suicidal bomber thinks that GO runs their head, but in reality their own demented mind causes the bomb to go BOOM.

Same with many of the Christians. (To be fair, AZ )

GOD may well think algorithmically but in equations far beyond our capacity to decipher. After all, until we surrender to Him, we are being run by IT.

Both sides were trying to win the war and, in the long run, save lives.

The philosophical question is complex.
1) Can there even be two sides?
(Dualism is alive and well.)

You will likely argue that the sane side is secular and scientific.

I will simply pray, claim you as one of the Lord's children, and eliminate your side.

Of course, we white folks from Europe already tried that after Constantine essentially nationalized Christianity.

Now the darn Leftists want to push the National Debt into the government so that we the people HAVE to pay it off!

My side says that we should have just punted and let the other side deal with it.

This is why they produce suicide bombers.

And FYI everybody, my blood sugar is getting better. I'm just ornery and random this morning.

This does not make any sense.

Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Re: Suicide is a survival strategy (for species).
your entire post

Maybe it's my morning doldrums bc (before coffee) but even after my second cup I still don't know what you're saying.

Woo is two sided: you and god. And in this universe the IT department is called physics and runs, literally, everything. As for Pennywise, I'm not into punk rock. Neither are you, I don't think. Why is this here?

Have I slipped a cog? again?

Ok. I'm gonna go watch some sports center for a bit, see if the world decides to make any sense.

Oh good. It's not me. You're the one who slipped a cog. In fact you've thrown an entire bearing.

Your blood sugar is good you still come up with this stuff.

Phat, have a donut ...nah ... ok, dont.

Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given.

That's the equivalent of, "There are some things we just can't explain - so here's the explanation."

If it's "beyond our capacity to decipher", how are you deciphering it? How are you concluding "GOD" from something you can't decipher?

Yes.

Phat writes:

It has nothing to do with dualism. I was talking about history.

Phat writes:

You should stop trying to predict what I will argue. You don't even read what I do argue. I didn't say a word about a "sane" side. If anything, I was pointing out that the sides weren't that different.

Phat writes:

I was talking about the difference between religious fanatics and kamikazes.
