If so, a majority of voters are thus complete fucking idiots (to use your words). ...yes, and? Is this a shock to you?-->“The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it.” - Francis Bacon "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers “A world that can be explained even with bad reasons is a familiar world. But, on the other hand, in a universe suddenly divested of illusions and lights, man feels an alien, a stranger. His exile is without remedy since he is deprived of the memory of a lost home or the hope of a promised land. This divorce between man and his life, the actor and his setting, is properly the feeling of absurdity.” – Albert Camus "...the pious hope that by combining numerous little turds of variously tainted data, one can obtain a valuable result; but in fact, the outcome is merely a larger than average pile of shit." - Barash, David 1995... It is statements like that that are the earmark of what is called an "elitist". You are no smarter than the other 50%. You just have different problems.
Do you know what a bell curve is, Phat? I couldnt care less if you label me an elitist. People who voted for the guy promising tariffs and then researched tariffs after the fucking election were being stupid beyond belief. People who voted for Tump thinking "he wont go after mi abuela, he'll only target those bad criminals!" were being stupid. Anyone who things Trump, who significantly damaged the economy and massively inflated the national debt in his first term, would be good for the economy or the national debt was being stupid. Anyone who thought that Trump has a better foreign policy than the US standard (which I agree is evil and terrible) was being stupid. Yes, it can get worse, and now it will. Anyone who thought Trump would be better for Palestinians in Gaza than Biden or Harris was being stupid.
Education in and of itself does not make a person any better than anyone else. Interesting you should bring that up. Guess who doesn't have a 4-year college degree? This guy. I've got a worthless Associates degree from an unaccredited tech school. By some standards I stand among "the uneducated."-->“The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it.” - Francis Bacon "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. I try to remind myself that "stupid" is a matter of individual decisions and context, not a permanent, enduring personal trait.
There are lots of really smart people in some field, who make utterly stupid decisions. Everyone is stupid sometimes. But I'll admit, when you fail the assignment so hard that you vote for Trump on matters of...literally any of his policies, it's really hard to remember that people arent stupid, people do stupid things. The alternative is that they simply support his hate and vindictiveness, the desire to blame and punish others overriding all sanity. That would make them evil.-->“The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it.” - Francis Bacon "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. My jury is still out on Mr. Trump. He may well be the antichrist, for the narrative would fit. He has a majority of the American church fooled. By the end of the four years, we can judge whether Kamala would have been any better.
Are you being serious right now Phat? I can't tell if you're being serious. I've never known you to joke around in such a way, but this is an absurdly ignorant take. How in the actual fuck do you reckon "the jury is still out?" The literal jury convicted him of over 30 felonies. More relevantly, we had 4 years of his actual "policies" with a bunch of career public servants staving off some of his worst/stupidest/most evil impulses, like literally shooting protesters, which he absolutely wanted/tried to do. He was told "We can't do that sir." All it takes is toadies willing to comply with illegal orders and bam - or rather "bang bang," protesters are getting shot. This is exactly the sort of thing I have to call "dumb," Phat. You have no excuse whatsoever for ignorance of this level given what I can see that people have told you and the fact we've had years of direct experience, so you must be playing the fool.-->“The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it.” - Francis Bacon "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.
