Why are strings like "so-and-so has not yet replied" changed to things like "so-and-so has taken no action"?

I changed it to "taken no action" because there are two possible actions: a) reply; b) mark it acknowledged by clicking on the "taken no action" string, which then changes to say that you've seen it (used to say you've acknowledged it). I can change it all back if no one likes it.
It doesn't matter to me. I just happened to notice it.
