Feminism (the demonic enemy of motherhood) - as anti-life and genocidal as it is - isn't doing enough to reduce populations.
This isn't the topic of this thread, but anyway, like many things that marc9000 says, his Kamala Harris claim in Message 118 is untrue. He was challenged on it twice and didn't respond to either:
Oddly, you responded to his message twice.
It's about time an evil entity like the Democrats introduced euthanising the elderly ... start with anyone over 80 (sorry Mr. Biden) and gradually make the cut-off age lower and lower.
No political party has a monopoly on good or evil, but this aspersion about Democrats has no basis in fact, like most of what you say.

Blame global warming ... it makes things colder ... apparently.
The term "global warming" led some people to make incorrect interpretations, like you're doing now. That's why the shift to the term "climate change."
The Earth's average temperature has been increasing and will be increasing for a long time, but there will continue to be local variations. On average we should expect to see higher highs and higher lows, but that doesn't mean that wide temperature variations are a thing of the past or that very low temperatures are no longer possible.
Why are you raising objections that are on a 6-year-old's level? What's the point? Why not dig into the topic of climate change a bit and learn something so you can have an intelligent discussion instead of throwing out a bunch of two and three sentence error-filled blurbs.

The term "global warming" was replaced by the term "climate change" in a (futile) attempt to explain away cold climate events that seem to contradict the claim that the planet is warming unnaturally. We're expected to believe that abnormally-cold climate events are the result of global warming.

Hilarious.
I have a theory about why is the Left so bizarrely neurotic about racism - atheism means life is meaningless, so atheists invented a fake code of morality to make their lives feel more meaningful.

It seems that you're a sucker for climate-change propaganda.
Dr. Peter Ridd is an Australian physicist and former professor (at James Cook University, North Queensland, Australia) who was sacked for criticising the climate-change bs written about the Great Barrier Reef.
Welcome to the climate-change cult.

I provided you a correct explanation. Why would you think temperature variations and cold extremes would be absent on a planet only a couple degrees warmer? You don't seem to be thinking rationally. To this point our planet is about 2°F warmer than a couple hundred years ago. That's nowhere near enough to make cold extremes disappear. If there's some logic or rationale behind your thinking then it's not apparent. You're going to have to explain.
Another reason for preferring the term "climate change" is that it's more inclusive of what's happening to our planet. Climate change is more than just an increasing average world temperature. It's also rising sea levels, shrinking glaciers, expanding deserts, shinking tundra, melting permafrost and the resulting release of methane, earlier beginnings of spring and later starts to winter, changes to where crops will grow, changing ecologies that force plant and wildlife migration or even extinction due to loss of habitat, warming oceans that affect fishery locations, and so forth.

So much wrong crammed into so few words.
Dredge writes:

Everyone of all political persuasions should be opposed to racism, especially during these times when racism is experiencing a rebirth on the right with influential politicians like Trump and DeSantis making it seem okay to overtly express racism.
...atheism means life is meaningless, so atheists invented a fake code of morality to make their lives feel more meaningful.
Atheism only means that one doesn't accept the existence of a being for whom there is no evidence and whose existence can only be accepted on faith. Which is as it should be. People accept God because of faith, not because he (or she or it) has been proven.
A sense of morality is an inherent quality that to varying degrees all human beings possess. It isn't something that requires religion.
The political left is less religious than the right, but most people describe themselves as religious or spiritual regardless of political affiliation.

Well, yes, exactly, islands generally disappear over long time periods such as millions of years, just as you said. If you look at the islands of Hawaii which formed over a geologic hot spot, the older islands in the chain are smaller because they've been eroded away over millions of years.
But Tuvalu will likely mostly disappear in less than a century, and that's because of the exceptional rapidity of current climate change. The geologic record reveals many periods of changing climate, but the climate change we're experiencing today is more rapid than any in the past for which we have evidence.

I wasn't aware of Dr. Peter Ridd, but I just read his Wikipedia page. It's true that he's received a great deal of criticism for his views on climate change, but his firing from James Cook University was over another matter entirely, his public disclosures on the Internet of what JCU considered confidential information. Apparently he'd been censured by the university and was directed on numerous occasions to keep the matter confidential. When he publicly disclosed the information he was fired. Dr. Ridd filed suit which went through several appeals and eventually lost.
Welcome to the climate-change cult.
If climate change is shown wrong it will be by scientific data, not by calling names.

Ice Storm
I know lots of people have much more extreme winter weather than we do in the Pacific Northwestern U.S. but we are getting hammered right now.
Here where I live we are having ice pellets, with about 2 inches on the ground and 18F. I feel fortunate, because last night they were predicting freezing rain which brings down lots of trees and powerlines. The Portland/Vancouver area is getting heavy snow and winds. The Columbia Gorge east of Portland is getting heavy snow and ice and 80-100 mph wind gusts.
We have Anna's Humming birds that over winter here so I am rotating feeders inside to thaw so they always have liquid in the feeders.

I feel with you, Tany.
Here in Phoenix we have had a major fall in our daily high temperatures. From the 115°F just a few months ago to a daily high of only 64° today with predicted daily highs of only 70-77°F degrees for the remainder of the next 2 weeks. While we have escaped many of the small rain showers that are apt to pop up this time of year, we, daily, have had to endure hours-long stretches of warming sunshine contrasting the gentle 70° breeze through the valley.
Neither of our weather issues will remain for too long. In a few months neither of us will be suffering the cold any more.
