If Trump or Biden were my only options I wouldn't vote at all.
RFK Jr has name appeal but I would have to study his positions as well as Christie, should I swing that way.

Phat writes: RFK Jr has name appeal but I would have to study his positions PK writes: I googled his platform.(RFK Jr.) His position is best described as anti-vax nutcase. PRO: He dislikes Fauci, as do I. However, as you say, the anti-vax stuff is/was excessive.CONCLUSION: Not a good enough candidate. Omni writes: In my opinion, inflation has only paused...not "cooled" for very long. Dems seem to think that money is like a giant game of musical chairs and as long as you keep spending it wisely, it will always hold its value and be there no matter how much you raise the debt ceiling. I believe we will be in for a rude awakening and revaluation of US economic status.
Reps will be running with a Supreme albatross around their necks; inflation is cooling, and the economy is perking right along. The legislation Biden got through a divided Congress invests trillions into infrastructure and new industrial plant: this is starting to sink in, even across red states. Omni writes: What I fear more than Biden is the VP who will come in on his coattails. We need sane traditional values...not extremism. If Dems go with a moderate VP, I might vote for the old codger. (though now he is simply getting too old) Barring intervening black swans, (IT) looks like Biden v. Trump again, aging sanity and competence v. aging psychopathy and incompetence... Biden will beat him like a drum.Omni writes: Given all that, as well as the ongoing background demographic changes -- more young voters, more college-educated voters, perhaps even the increased mortality in red states (because duh) -- I see a good chance for a Democrat trifecta. Hopefully, the college-educated ones are fair and balanced and are not extremists. Jerry Rubin turned from radical to Wall Street...perhaps the new generation will also contribute its fair share of market capitalists who understand money. Edited by Phat, .

Omni writes: Have you seen the news from France lately?
The Democratic Party is a center left party: the furthest left of them, like AOC and Sanders, are social democrats, no more alarming than the average elected politician in Europe.

Personally, I am impressed with Vivek Ramaswamy. He is head and shoulders above all of the rest of the G.O.P. field.

I never researched his platform, to be honest. I heard him yesterday in an interview. The consensus in the comments was that he was the most impressive. I didnt know that he was thought well of by Trump, but after actually listening to him, I find that I agree with many of his points.
I am against affirmative action, as was he.I wanted the truth behind Covid and it eventually came out. The only uncertainty I now have is the "long Covid" mutation. He mentioned that the populists felt as if the truth was suppressed and that led to their overreaction on Jan 6th. Democrats would respond that they only suppress rumors and that facts are what they go by, but my jury is still out on whether the Republican party is totally corrupted. I think that there is a gray area that neither side acknowledges. He scored high in this most recent interview, but
BPR:. I like the fact that he is young, and I think that this country has gone too far into this whole "woke" agenda described elsewhere. We need to move right in order to reach the middle. AbE: He has a book that I want to read. quote:I agree by and large with that paragraph. I do not support identity politics.

PK writes: Anyone who votes for Trump votes for tyranny, which explains Marc’s support for Trump. As I have said before, I'm behind Vivek Ramaswamy. The young man makes sense and nearly all of his views are ones I share. Trump and Biden both should be put out to pasture. If Ramaswamy made it to the general election, (a long-shot, admittedly) the Dems would not put Biden up against him. They would find another way. A.O.C. vs Vivek would indeed be a celestial fire show! He could match her wits, but her experience at debate would challenge his every ideology. He sounds great when he is in an interview, but lets see how he is in debates.

What I meant was that if Vivek becomes a front runner before the primaries are over, the Dems may rethink going with Biden. Unless they plan on keeping him quiet. Anything he says wont make a whole lot of sense.

I just read that link. I believe that she was honest and valued her conscience over her patriotism. There is hope.

To me, it kinda sounds like Ramaswamy is playing both sides against the middle. He does not want to alienate Trump supporters in case Trump gets forced out of the race,(or somehow skates through this!) but he also wants to make it appear as if he is asking a legitimate question for inquiring voters.

Percy writes: Sounds to me like Ramaswamy is the one playing politics.
...we don't need Republicans like Mr. Ramaswamy engaging in false innuendo that the events surrounding January 6th were really nothing and that this is all just Democrats playing politics.

nwr writes: Good point. I wonder what is strategy is? He seems bright enough...maybe he is trying to lure stupid people to vote for him.
He seemed to be going out of his way to alienate the independent voters whose support he would need.

The numbers may fit on Bidens economic graphs, but the reality behind the curtain is that the dollar is going to become a paper tiger. The only good news there is that China has problems of its own and thus no individual nation can dethrone the US.
Ive said it before and you all think im delusional and misinformed, but wait just one more presidential term and you will witness the implosion. It matters little what we do now. As jar used to say, The Bill Will Get Paid. And no, none of us can get the wealthy to pay it.

Yesterday sounds like the populist anthem.
Yesterday....all my troubles seemed so far away..now it looks as if they're here to stay.. I think that Mr. Trump is toast. If he wiggles out of all these indictments, we should consider that he is an antichrist. The antichrist is supposed to fool a lot of people. Religious people themselves cheer him on. Just saying.

Percy writes: If Donald Trump is elected in 2024 his legal problems will evaporate substantially and he will embark upon what I've been calling the Trump Vengeance Tour. And if he loses in 2028 then we will have a repeat of 2020 and January 6th (not necessarily an assault on Congress, that's so last cycle, but something really, really bad) all over again. First off, though Trump will likely forever have his base, he was elected due to quite a few swing votes in 2016. Given what we all know now, I highly doubt he will get the swing votes needed to win. And if he is on the ballot in 2028, it would have to mean that he did a good job the previous 4 years assuming that he even makes it that far. All highly unlikely. Its time to move on.
