Hunter Biden and his legal council have not questioned the validity of the judge or prosecutor or charges.
Hunter Biden does not stop before the cameras after each session to whine about how he is being treated. Hunter Biden has not attempted to try the case in the media rather than the court. Hunter Biden has not suggested that his followers should oppose the very fact of any trial or that physical harm should be done to the judge or prosecutors.

Actually I found it interesting that the general consensus today is approaching the positions and how I felt when I left.
I still hope that there is a chance at least one of the nutjobs may get help.

Today I had to go get groceries and there was one of the Trump car/truck parades. It stretched about a half mile in length and lots of 'Don't Tread on Me', Confederate Battle Flag, upside down US Flags, 'Appeal to Heaven' flag and 'Free the Jan 6th Hostages' banners.
The were also the ubiquitous TRUMP is my President banners, Stop the Steal and 'For God & Trump' signs. Have I even mentioned that the alliance between the Christian Cult of Ignorance and the current GOP party is a threat? But the Oligarchs, just as in the early 1930s, believe they can control whoever is elected.

It's pretty clear that you don't know the basics including things like definitions such as what an oligarch is.
And please remember, I am a Rio Grande Valley voter. Other then those two points what does anything in your screed have to do with my post? As for Trump, the reality is the man is a boor, a failure with a record of 7 bankruptcies so far, a man convicted of fraud, the head of Trump.org which was convicted of 17 felonies, a man convicted of sexual abuse and defamation and a man currently indicted in numerous other cases. Those are what are called facts; indisputable facts. The question is "Given the indisputable facts regarding Donald Trump how can there be any support for the man unless the supporter is immune to cognitive dissonance?"

Again, what does anything in your post have to do with my post or reality.
Facts actually count and the Vice-President has absolutely no power to order or direct any bombing anywhere. Your assertions in that post have no more connection to reality than all the other absolute absurdities you post. The facts are As for Trump, the reality is the man is a boor, a failure with a record of 7 bankruptcies so far, a man convicted of fraud, the head of Trump.org which was convicted of 17 felonies, a man convicted of sexual abuse and defamation and a man currently indicted in numerous other cases. Those are what are called facts; indisputable facts. The question is "Given the indisputable facts regarding Donald Trump how can there be any support for the man unless the supporter is immune to cognitive dissonance?" Trumps record is fact. What you posted is simply an unsupported assertion that is refuted by the actual fact that an American Vice-President has absolutely no power to order or direct any bombing anywhere, Trump is a a boor, a failure with a record of 7 bankruptcies so far, a man convicted of fraud, the head of Trump.org which was convicted of 17 felonies, a man convicted of sexual abuse and defamation and a man currently indicted in numerous other cases. All of those facts ARE thing committed or controlled by Donald Trump.

Yes, Biden is a far from ideal candidate but frankly he is the least objectionable of all the candidates currently running.
The facts are as for Biden, the reality is the man is not a boor, not a failure with a record of 7 bankruptcies so far, not a man convicted of fraud, not the head of Trump.org which was convicted of 17 felonies, not a man convicted of sexual abuse and defamation and not a man currently indicted in numerous other cases.

Again, what in your post relates to anything in the post to which you are responding?
Is it true that as for Biden, the reality is the man is not a boor, not a failure with a record of 7 bankruptcies so far, not a man convicted of fraud, not the head of Trump.org which was convicted of 17 felonies, not a man convicted of sexual abuse and defamation and not a man currently indicted in numerous other cases? And while the post to which you are responding concerns irrefutable facts, your post is all just suppositions and allegations. Can you simply respond to posts rather than trying yet another screed? The facts are As for Trump, the reality is the man is a boor, a failure with a record of 7 bankruptcies so far, a man convicted of fraud, the head of Trump.org which was convicted of 17 felonies, a man convicted of sexual abuse and defamation and a man currently indicted in numerous other cases. AbE: also, some basics. You do understand that under the current Constitution, the Executive branch proposes while the Legislative branch disposes. The President can suggest spending money on a project but Congress is who actually decides what money can be spent. Fact: Biden in NOT Congress. Edited by jar, : See AbE:

Again, some basics.
The That is what is called a fact. Polls are simply polls and the only facts involved is the fact that the results of the poll were as reported. Beyond that they have no connection with reality. Again, the reality is that it's likely Biden or Trump will get elected. The former is not a convicted sex offender or fraudster or manager of an organization convicted or 17 felonies or someone who has had to declare bankruptcy seven times so far. The latter is a convicted sex offender and fraudster and manager of an organization convicted or 17 felonies and someone who has had to declare bankruptcy seven times so far. The former has been successful while the latter has been unable to make a success of sure winners like casinos and beauty pageants and reality TV shows. You can't be a much bigger loser than that. Well, maybe getting fined almost a half a billion dollars might be considered an even bigger loser. Although it's surprising that the case against Hunter Biden for lying on a 4473 form was ever even considered, there was never any doubt that he was guilty. There is a check box related to illicit drug use (but not alcohol) on the 4473 form and he was an admitted drug addict. He did buy and own the gun for 11 days, it was never used to commit any crime but he did lie on the form.
Now what is interesting. Joe Biden was asked if he would accept the outcome of the trial and his answer was "Yes". He was asked if he would grant a pardon (since it is a federal offense he does have the right and capability to issue a pardon) and his answer was "No". Contrast Joe Biden's respect for the rule of law even when his son may face prison time (actually I hate that part since prison is really not the best option for trying to recover from drug addiction) to Trump's reaction to the rule of law. Edited by jar, : take out superfluous 'even'

My problem is that we are truly in an oligarchy and I see no way that has a reasonable probability of changing that. Two things would be needed and both seem utterly impossible to happen in my lifetime. First Citizens United needs to be repealed and second government needs to become consensus based.
But I'm old and the oligarchs are convinced they can manage whomever gets elected at the federal level. The German oligarchs and Russian oligarchs thought similarly. Edited by jar, : unity ----> united

Taq writes: We would need a rewrite of the constitution in order to form a party based parliamentary system. Our form of winner-take-all almost guarantees a two party system which discourages consensus building. Long long away and Far far ago, the two political parties were not monolithic, each party had a more liberal and more conservative voice as well as the much larger centralist body. Even the wings were a spectrum of positions rather than one voice. That led to a greater consensus/compromise process than what we see today. Taq writes: Getting money out of political campaigns would be of great help. This would include getting rid of political action committees. But to do that the very people that profit the most would have to be the ones to overturn Citizens United. It is possible and has happened in the past, votes for women was the result of all male legislators voting to expand the right. BUT, it doesn't happen often. Edited by jar, : format

The reality is that there are only two choices for President;
a man convicted of criminal fraud, who has had to declare bankruptcy 7 times, was convicted of sexual abuse, has been convicted of defamation and convicted of repeatedly violating judicial orders and who is an utterly tasteless boor with still a long list of additional charges yet pending
or a man who was not ever charged much less convicted of criminal fraud, who has not had to declare bankruptcy 7 times or even 1 time, was not ever charged much less convicted of sexual abuse, was not ever charged much less convicted of defamation, was not ever charged much less convicted of repeatedly violating judicial orders and who is not an utterly tasteless boor and is without a long list of additional charges yet pending. |

Hopefully this debate is a loud enough wake up call and early enough for the Democrats to choose a better candidate.
AbE: I'd like to see a slate of Katie Hobbs and Michelle Grisham. Edited by jar, : see AbE
