WI winter hanging on
We might get 6" to a foot of snow in the next week. With this warm winter I thought I might be mowing in April, but this will put it back to late May at the earliest. We do need precipitation. Spring is always high fire risk until green up, but the lack of snow makes this year much worse.

I am sure it feels nice to be home. I am heading out tomorrow. No fun road trip. Flying to Phoenix for the week. Friends moved down this winter. So a buddy and I are going down to golf. Unfortunately, we are flying one of the worst airlines, Sun Country. But the price was right.

AZ is going to be 90's. We were supposed to go to Vegas. One of my buddies has cancer and he was hoping to have one last big guys golf trip. He isn't well enough to travel. Another friend(a ghosthunter) backed out with lame excuses. This guy was supposed to drive the golf clubs out. Retired, divorced so he has lots of free time. The final guy and I don't gamble so we decided to go somewhere else. We have a friend who is now a snowbird so we decided to go to AZ and see their new house and golf. A little hotter than I want but we are down to 35F right now, so I think it is a good choice.

AZ is a nice place to visit, but I certainly have no desire to live here. Suburban sprawl hell. My friends moved into an over 55 community in Maricopa. Lots of amenities, lots of local golf courses(he would golf ever day if he could), nice weather. Just not my cup of tea. We will come see them every year, but not going to sunbird it like they want.

What brand? I have Phonak. I can bluetooth any audio source direct to my hearing aids. My old ones were about 7 years old when I replaced them last year. Huge difference.

I have Phonak Audeo M70-RT. Love them. There is an app to make adjustments. No device is needed for Bluetooth. These are also rechargeable. I have only had one issue with not having batteries. Last Thanksgiving we went to Seattle for 4 days and I forgot my charger. My previous ones were $4200, 8 years ago. I paid $3200 for these a year ago. Unfortunately, my insurance pays $0 for hearing aids. I guess that is what an HSA is for. Edited by Theodoric, .

The first time you have hearing aids in you will be shocked. I immediately started talking softer. Music will sound different and amazing. You have no idea what is missing till you hear it again. Nature is amazing and stunning again. The key to hearing aids is to wear them all the time when you are awake. You brain needs to adjust. My mother in law has had hearing aids for about 5 years and still complains that they are just not right or too loud or too soft. She only wears them when she leaves the house, which is less and less. Her brain has never adjusted.

I have heard good things about Costco hearing aids sales. We just got our first within 250 miles last year so I went through a local audiologist office. I figure I am OK spending a little more for bells and whistles. This is my second pair of Phonak and love them. There are 4 programming levels. I got 3rd highest.
