Re: Re-Orthodoxy

I have always been skeptical of orthodoxy and always question my deeply held views as well as those of others.
I am not sure I believe you when you say you have challenged your own deeply-held beliefs. Like, at all.
This doubt is based on conversations here, where you seem to have done nothing but defend all of your beliefs, even though most of them are rationally indefensable.

Re: Re-feeling

Care to show me where what Genesis says is incorrect?
That's not how rational conclusions are made, ICANT.
You don't decide to believe something first, then challenege everybody else to prove you wrong.
I could believe in one of a hundred cultural origins myths, and then demand that because you cannot show me that what my version claims is incorrect, my belief is correct.
Can you not see how crappy and vacant that argument is?
What you should have done is based your acceptance on an examination of the positive, verifiable-by-anyone-not-just-a-believer-evidence.
Clearly, you didn't do that. You didn't read a bunch of scientific research. You didn't even read more than one origins myth, even though there are many hundreds in existence. You read the single one that happened to be the most accepted one in your country and region of birth and decided to believe it based upon your feelings about it.
Why don't you show us the positive, physical evidence that supports what you believe about the Genesis acount?
The kind that doesn't contradict ANY scientific evidence and doesn't require us to believe in the account beforehand.

Re: Re-feeling
quote:
I look at Genesis account of creation as evidence apparantly you do not.
Of course it isn't evidence! Have you learned nothing here?
If your interpretation of the Genesis origins myth should be counted as evidence, then so should every single other origins myth that has ever existed.
What makes your myth the true one and all the others false?
