I think a deist is functionally a soft atheist. A deist believes that, in the beginning, God got it all started. Then it's "I have no belief that God has been involved since the beginning".
I may be wrong.
I tried to pursue something along the lines of this in a
proposed Great Debate with RAZD, but he declined.
