then Crash, pray with me this minute let go for a moment i will also pray with you , search for faith within and ask in this prayer which i will pray with you ' if you are real Jesus make yourself known to me by your spirit and i will then believe in you' i have no hidden agenda Crash i and you right now , what have you to lose?
No, see, I had all that. Prayer and god and stuff. Been there, done that.
I rejected it because none of it is true. Now that I know that I can't go back. It's like, you can't go back to the Matrix because you know it isn't real.
I'm still open. If god exists, and deigns to reveal that to me, I'll have to accept that, won't I? But I have a pretty high standard of proof, as should anyone truly interested in the truth.

No, it's all right. You're actually a good christian, if that's any consolation from me.

ok Crash i only offered because i have faith that God would reveal himself to you , if its not his plan then i apologise God ,i apologise Crash , i just thought the spirit might just touch you Crash , you see your not alone i know i have been there and it moved me with pity when you mentioned the darkness of atheism, you see all it takes is the question i suggested , its not religion, just a private moment with God its the humble act i have faith that God responds to this.

i apologise Crash
Seriously, no need to apologize to me.
Honestly, though, the fact that atheism is a difficult road suggests to me that it may be the right one. Which I don't think is any more unreasonable a criterion than has ever been applied to a belief.

Am I the only one who sees atheism as inspiring, instead of dark or depressing?
It's no fun to pay the rent on my own, but I sure as Hell wouldn't want to be living at my Mom's house at my age.

Yeah, atheism is the only thing that's kept me kicking all these years. If I thought I was going ANYWHERE different, I might have long since put a gun in my mouth. I admit atheists have lousy holidays though.

Well, I find not being deluded pretty inspiring, personally. So that part totally works for me. And being true to myself is much better than wondering over and over again what's wrong with me that I just can't seem to accept Jesus like "everybody else".
But it also means there's no agency to step in to fix my life when I mess up. So the stakes are higher. But I've also found that I have a much greater acceptance of mortality these days than I ever did before.

You know, this is one part of religion that really gets my goat. If there is the smallest hint that you might be emotionally vulnerable and therefore maybe not thinking clearingly, then they pounce. Like a predator picking the the sick animal.
Mike, I don't think you did this intentionally. You more than likely really thought you could help, but I'm afriad that I find this sort of thing repulsive, like a guy hitting on a drunk woman since she more than likely won't know she is being taken advantage of.

I really don't think there's a need for you to be insulted about this. Firstly, it was me he was talking to. Secondly, I don't have a problem with it. I've been where Mike is now, so I can totally understand what motivated him to say what he did - an earnest desire to help another human being.
If you saw somebody you thought needed a hand, and you had something that helped you, wouldn't you try and share it? You don't have to agree with his religion to understand a genuine desire to help people.
I really don't see that there's any reason to pick on Mike for wanting to help me out. Can we just let this go?

i know the fundamentals Crash , and i think cold hard facts do not add up to evolution,
Please demonstrate this...what is the theory of evolution?
Please give a summary of the facts supporting it and then demonstrate "a cold hard fact" that does not support evolution.
quote:
creation can be scientifically supported , why deny this , why such i die hard evolution outlook what are you people so afraid of?
Please give the scientific support for creation. But prior to this please demonstrate how there is a testable and falsifiable hypothesis of creation (not this has never been done by anyone anywhere). Please list the "cold hard facts" supporting the testable hypothesis assuming you can come up with one.
Failing to support your claims as requested above would suggest you have not truly grasped what science actually is much less individual disciplines such as biology.
None of us are afraid of creationism...there is just no support for it much less an actual scientific hypothsis of creationism. However, people like me are afraid when a kid like you who apparently has some nascent interest in science demonstrates that the education system has so badly failed in teaching you the principles of science that you equate the supernatural, mythology, and irrationality with science...it is a true pity as it does nothing for the advancement of science when the majority of people are so blindly ignorant of its principles that it becomes relegated to being an elitist specialty...
