I think that humans in the western society are definitaly devolving physically. Whenever a man with horrible eyesight is allowed to reproduce, the eyesight of the genetic pool takes a tiny step down. Whenever a person who is only alive because of modern medecine and antibiotics reproduces, the level of immunity of the genetic pool takes a step down. Over time, people are becoming less physically strong and fit.
You misunderstand. Evolution only moves a population to suit the current conditions better. The examples you give are not "devoling" at all. They are simply part of evolving under the current conditions. At the same time those individuals may well carry other mutations. The fact that eye sight or strength is lower does not, in the current enviroment, mean these individuals are less fit at all. Their eyesight or strength happens to be neutral is all.

Lammy, I think it would be appropriate if you directed our young friend to the many other homosexual threads we have, including a few that I believe are still open.

Actually, I need to get out of my dorm and go home for a week (turkey break) so I would appreciate it if someone else do this for me. If necessary, use weapons. I'm outta here.

Hate world.
Revenge soon!

I cannot belive that animals rape for power. I cannot belive that animals kill for no reason. Animals supposedly don't reason, so how can they choose do things that aren't instinctive or useful?

I cannot belive that animals rape for power.
I don't know that I believe that humans do, either. The evidence seems to suggest that rapists rape to expand their reproductive opportunity; rapists consistently report experiencing a deficiency between their sex life, no matter how frequent, and how much sex they think they're "supposed" to be having.
It's a complex uestion and I don't know where I stand on it. But I don't think we can simply conclude, without discussion, that men rape for power over women. Without some evidence that's just a convinient excuse.
I cannot belive that animals kill for no reason. Animals supposedly don't reason
If animals don't reason, then everything they do is without reason.

Your comment on the animals reasoning skills are noted, but I am still to be convinced. As for the rape, men aren't the only ones who rape. Women can too, and I think no matter the sex, rape is for power, unless of course we're dealing with men in a sexual situation in which they have been teased enough and cannot relax. From what I've heard, that it very painful, and I don't doubt it.

My cats do all the time.
They aren't hungry, THAT's for sure. They are both too fat.
They do like to hunt mice, insects, spiders, and birds and kill them for fun.

Not only do animals kill for pleasure they also exhibit mercy.I sawe a show last yeear in which a pod of killer whales ambushed a group of seals{or was it penguins? and collectively worked together to herd them around so that the pod might feed. There came a point at which they stopped feeding and then began to toy with one remaining seal flipping it high in the air back and forth for awhile. The whales eventually left and one of them pushed the exhausted seal to shore and nudged in onto the ice.
No one thought to ask the seal{penguin} his thoughts on the morality of it all.

I know that I shouldn't be saying this, but I belive whales to have a different kind of intelligence similar to humans, as well as elephants and primates. Was the seal killed on accident? Did the seal eventually get eaten?

Again, I must reply by stating that cats are domestic. Domestic animals are different from wild animals, though I understand that animals, domestic or wild, will kill to protect their turf.

Pet, or domestic cats very easily revert to the wild. Ever been to Greece? The cities are filled with feral cats that are exactly the same species as my house cats, but they are completely wild.

But my cats kill for fun.
Wasn't your point that they had LOST their instincts? Wasn't your point also that animals don't kill without a reason?

Whales and elephants are not as intelligent as primates by any objective measure.

True. I guess that I am changing my mind from all of the input from everyone here. You all should feel proud, getting me to change my ideas so quickly. In the short time that I have been using these forums, several of my original ideas have changed, and for that I thank all of you.

I suppose that I should have chosen a different wording instead of intelligence. Elephants, whales, and some species of primates show human like emotions rather than intelligence.
