Re: The Big Bang
Yes, you make a point. Would a book that claims life came from rocks and that human consciousness is the result of a long string of accidents be more acceptable?
(you might want to do a little more research on that value of Pi inaccuracy, though). (And please don't forget about the bombardier beetle).

Beetles
Why don't you open a thread on the firey little fellow then? You might find that some of your information is not exactly right.

Common sense isn't

Re: Beetles
You totally ignored my main question, but jumped to an obscure sideline note that I put in parentheses? I'll make you a deal: You start a thread on my main question, and I'll start a thread on the bombardier beetle. As to my main question, let me trim it down a little so it fits as a topic header: Is human consciousness the result of a long string of random accidents?

Re: Beetles
Is human consciousness the result of a long string of random accidents?
No, it is the result of 3.5 billion years of evolution.

Re: Human consciousness
I see. Two quick questions: Is evolution a string of events that are random or designed? Is evolution accidental or intentional?

Re: Human consciousness
You're right. It was that reference to talking snakes that got us off the track. I'll start a new thread asap.
