Re: Relativity! Fact or fiction? you choose
Now we have the paradox. Both observers see the other observer's time as being compressed relative to their own.
Where is the paradox? I don't really see it there?

Re: Relativity! Fact or fiction? you choose
A's elapsed time is shorter than B's but B's is also shorter than A's.
The elapsed time for A is the elapsed time for A. The elapsed time for b is the elasped time for b. How that appears for another entity depends of their relationship. You are looking at it from three different POVs, A, B and some independant and unspecified observer that sees only t2 and t 4.
A sees all of the events from his perspective. The same is true of B. They see t1 and t4, and t3 and t2 respectively. And the unspecified outside observer sees only t2 or t4.

Okay, so are we together on these things...
  1. in your first drawing there are two observers.
  2. in the second drawing there are three observers.
  3. each observer will see things based solely on their individual referent.
  4. while you can calculate how time passes for the others that does not effect how time passes for you.

If the person you asked to come here is the one promoting some form of return to aether, he did register but has not posted. His site was interesting (if he would only turn off the annoying blincking paragraphs) but I think he will have an exciting time here. For example, he list 10 things that were impossible to believe. One of the ten was a variation on your original example. As you can see, many of us here have no problem believing such things and don't even see a paradox.
But you're doing just fine. I'm looking forward to learning from you in other threads.

Re: Question
Remember that the whole thing depends on your point of view. It is equally reasonable for the travelers to say that everyone on earth aged twice as fast as the travelers or for the people on earth to say that those on the spaceship aged only half as fast as those who stayed.
The standard is totally arbitrary and exists only withing a single POV.
