How do creationists explain stars?

In the first place, it destroys the YEC insistence on a single creation event as stated in Gen 1: the Heavens and the Earth were created at the same time. If you're going to give in on the age of the universe, what's the point in insisting on a young Earth? Secondly, this would imply there were constant creation events going on - even today. This is another thing that most YECs won't countenance. Other problems will undoubtedly occur to you if you think about it.
