Re: So the Big Bang never happened cuz Sog345 says so.

Nothing has ever materialized from complete nothingness.
If you took the time to analyze your statement here you might realize that it is hardly a profound sentence. Of course nothing has ever materialized from nothingness, since the definition of nothingness requires that nothing can come from it.LOL
Curiously you use the adjective complete here as though there were a converse condition such as incomplete nothingess?

Re: something cannot come from nothing
DivineBeginning.
My statement of "something cannot come from nothing" is absolutely true.
Then where did the universe come from in your view? If it is by the hand of God {and God is something} then how do you avoid the same conundrum?

That is not an answer,DB that is special pleading. You exempt God from the very condiytion you demand of the Big Bang and thus are hand waving away the difficulty this presents

But you see, that's the whole premise of my faith...that God is so powerful that he in fact can create something out of nothing
But that is the problem DB. You refuse to accept that the universe can come into existence from nothing yet refuse to acknowledge God as being subject to the same condition through special pleading., which is to say, that you give God exemption status in order to avoid having to deal with the same difficulty you insist BB theory is guilty of.

God always existed, therefore he doesn't violate the something from nothing principle.
In what context do you reference his existence? In other words what kind of existence do you attribute to God before{a temporal term} the universe {including time} came into existence?

Re: actually considering evidence

This is what I watched in a documentary put together by scientists. They explained that the Grand Canyon didn't take millions of years to form, but rather hundreds.
I suppose you would be willing to share with myself the location of this documentary and the peer review that accompanied its release? It would be good to see the evidence and the experiments performed to back up the claims made. It would also be interesting to see the quality of science performed as well.

Dear Mrs Chown, Ignore your son's attempts to teach you physics. Physics isn't the most important thing. Love is.
Best wishes, Richard Feynman.

The earth has never seen the amount of water that was present during the flood. Right?
Damn straight considering that that much water has never been present on the Earth and that such a flood is impossible due to the physical properties of water and the laws of thermodynamics.
