Can you PLEASE stop speaking Webster English and start speaking in the vernacular?
You mean, say whatever I want with no expectation that I'll be held to my words, like you do?
No, I'm not going to do that. When you make assertions, they need to be supportable. You don't get to just utter statements at random and get to have them mean whatever you want.
Hell, you capitalized "NO" when you said "no scientists." What else did you mean, with that level of emphasis, than none?
If you misspoke, then you misspoke. We all do it; if you come clean and say so, no one will think the worse of you. Quite the contrary. But what you're doing now makes you look like you aren't smart enough to speak.
I have, by the way, been using "the vernacular." But using English vernacular doesn't mean that your statements don't have meaning. They do. If you meant something different than what you said, say so. But it's pretty obvious what's going on - you meant what you said then, have realized you were being dumb, and are now trying to pretend like you meant something else all along. It's pretty transparent. Just come clean already.
Do you disagree that most scientists think the universe evolve the way it did for a REASON?
Yes, I disagree. the laws of physics do what they do; the universe obeys. Only the ignorant or the arrogant suggest that it was set up this way by somebody on purpose.

Look up the "two-slit" experiment. This is the classic demonstration of quantum behavior, where a single electron passes through two slits simultaneously and interferes with itself.
Explain, please......I'm very interested.
C) Why would the particles do that? Where does their momentum come from? What knocks them in and out of space in exactly the right place?
I thought THAT was what the wave-function did.......

BECAUSE MATERIAL LIFE NEEDS PLANETS TO EVOLVE ON!
Says who? One single example in a potentially infinite universe?
Is there no end to your arrogant presumption?

removed by editor - because it's just not worth it.
Not to mention that it was an extremely weak rebuttle.......

Short-bus question. Explain to me how an ecosystem is supposed to evolve sans-planet?

We've reached 300 posts. The magic shut down number. I suggest that someone open a "Thoughts On Robin Collins and the Many Universe Generator II"
I also suggest that the tone remain civil. I haven't been keeping up with this topic, but the last page seems to be showing some exasperation on the part of Mr Chin.
I will leave this open for another hour or so for members to decide on another thread.

Can we stop with the "short-bus" comments? It does nothing for your argument except make you look arrogant.

Better yet, here's an illustrated explanation:

I thought THAT was what the wave-function did.......
No, the wave-function is the quanta before it becomes discreet.

Of course not.........EVERY statement should be taken literally......no one ever exaggerates to get a point accross..........
Yes, I disagree. the laws of physics do what they do; the universe obeys.
Right, and scientists say the laws of physics are set that way "just 'cause"..........why bother yourself with pesky questions as to why........it isn't like science is the search for truth or something.........

A bit more care please
I will start to do some of what is required of regular posters in the boot camp so you can get an idea of the help you need.
THIS proposition is moronic........and I refuted it earlier.
The "moronic" is unnecessary even if it did happen to be true. When involved in somewhat complex discussions of this type it is necessary to be a bit more patient.
If you believe that you have refuted something the individual you are talking to my have forgotten, not seen it or misunderstood. It would be appropriate at the this point to restate the refutation or link to it.
(note: you may use the [msg ] tag to make pointing to it easier.
Go here for details of how to use it: EvC Forum: dBCodes
So, what you're saying is, that an event that has 1000-1 odds against happening isn't highly unlikely?
That is not at all what he is saying. I suggest you read more carefully and ask questions before you make as many off-the-cuff statements.

Explain to me how an ecosystem is supposed to evolve sans-planet?
You don't read enough science-fiction. Larry Niven proposed exactly such an ecosystem in one of my favorite books, The Integral Trees. In it, an ecosystem evolves in a toroidal gas ring surrounding a neutron star. It has enough air pressure due to the star's gravity to allow for human exploration. It's based on real science; Jupiter has such a gas ring (much, much weaker); it's the remnant of a moon.

If you didn't mean "no scientists", then why did you capitalize it? It was pretty clear what you meant.
