However, my main point stands that if we can't falsify either of our beliefs about god, then it should get a free pass because we cannot know which of us is right.
And yet if unfalsifiable claims are made in economics, war justifications, tax policy...then they are criticized (often on the grounds that they make claims that are either unfalsifiable or unverifiable or both). Why should religion itself be exempt?
