Re: E=MC2 experiments
They have not propelled any mass at the speed of light squared.
Nor at the speed of sound squared, or at the speed of a turtle squared, or that of continental drift squared. Speed (well, velocity) is in units of distance/time, as in meters/sec or furlongs/fortnight. Only those units. Not (meters)2/(second)2, like c2 is in.
You simply have a misconception, Henrik, of what algebra is all about.

Re: Let's try this again!
Almost like classic Ertle - but D.E. had acceleration as identical to velocity. That way, everything closer than 0.717 mile to the center of the earth was moving faster than light, so it didn't exist any more, and the Earth was hollow.
Or something.

This really is Duane Ertle all over again. He looked at, say, F=ma as a totally different relationship than its rearrangements, a=F/m or m=F/a - as if the three told you totally different things. Masochists can search him out at CreationTalk.com, though it's been a year or more since he was there.
Henrik, I'm sorry, but with no more comprehension than you are showing here of first-year algebra, it's no wonder that you're struggling.

Re: Energy =mass * speed of light squared ?
It just seems like an incredible amount of energy in one atom
Incredible? Yup. The bombs that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki used up about a gram of matter each to do so.

Re: 0.6 grams of mass lost at Hiroshima
Also, given what Fat Boy did, it might be useful to tranlate the 5.4x1013 Joules into what that would do.
Lessee.....it would heat 34,000,000 gallons of water from 32F to 212F.
Or it would provide fifteen million kilowatt-hours of electricity to homes.
