Appearing to be one, behaving like another.
I think it was quite apparent that Hitler said whatever necessary to gain power over Germany.
I also think it was obvious that he was using natural selection to murder "weaker" human beings, while also using incorrent biblical interpretations to murder Jews.
Which gets directly to the point: It is extremely important the ideas that people have and will accept and that both of those categories of ideas be true.

Re: antisemitism
MangyTiger:
In the specific case of the Jews I think they also suffered from being identified as 'the murderers of Christ' - which always seemed odd to me as if they hadn't got the Romans to crucify Jesus there wouldn't be any Christianity
Exactly!!! Christ being crucified was a fulfillment of prophesy. If he had not been crucified AND then rose from the dead, christianity most assuredly would not exist.
But getting back more on topic to this thread: Hitler was schrewd and used whatever means necessary to rise to power, including capitalizing on human beings' fallicies such as hate for "others" and selfishness.
There were so many variables that fell into place during his rise to power: poverty, low national esteem, week minds, etc. He played upon all of these as well as anti-semitism and survival of the fittest. The former being an incorrect interpretation and application of biblical teaching (similar to the curse of ham used for racist purposes against blacks) and the other, though said to be a misapplication of science in an unscientific area by some on this thread, I believe, a logical consequence and application of evolutionary findings and understanding.

Re: Races
Exactly once again!!! Because we all came from the same mommy and daddy, who had all the posible genetic potentiality to produce every human trait that we see today. So there is intra-species common decent, but not inter-species common decent. Though Hitler tried to say that some humans were more advanced than others, thus trying to fulfill Nietzche's idea of a superman. An obvious godless philopher that clearly inspired the Nazi endevours.

Re: Races
AN: This is not on topic here, please do not respond.
First, that's for another topic. (AN: agreed, you started it stay off it here. I suggest: Macroevolution: Its all around us...).
Second, just like the picture of three blind men touching different parts of an elephant, all calling it something different, because of their bias and perspective, you would say (as most evolutionists do) that we are seeing "all kinds of new species", where as a christian would say "those are just different variations within the same species".
Thus we have the stalemate where the same evidence is varifying different perspecties and bringing about different conclusions. Which varifies scripture all the more when it says the natural man thinks the things of the spirit are foolish. which pretty much sums up this entire arguement.

Re: Races
Anybody can profess to believe in God, but the real key is do they believe God!
Killing the people of God is an obvious contradiction to Biblical teachings. And Hitler's behavior obviously shows a very unchristian and unregenerate heart, no matter what he might have said or wrote.
