Re: OEC without science?
While you didn't ask me, I would say that the answer would be No. You just have to look back at Europe in the Middle ages to answer this. In short, you arrive at a Young earth by reading the Bible and at an old earth when looking at the evidence.

I don't think you would want that, he's more likely to decide you are guilty because you are an "evil evolutionist" and will look at evidence from this preconception.

Sorry, I tried a little humor but it sucked... Just tried to point out that he wasn't bound to decide that he was innocent and I exagerated to make a point (it appears to have the opposite effect though). Taq thought the reason Minority Report would decide he was innocent was because of "presumed innocent until proved otherwise" so I wanted to give a reason why MR could decide Taq would be guilty beforehand. My example was bad but couldn't think of any other.

Just to come back on topic, can we conclude that for every people that have reacted so far, the bible is needed to arrive at YEC? If we all agree on that (it's the impression that this discussion gave me), then we can move to other topics? (in other threads)

What I meant is that given the evidences we know of now, it seems that noone would argue for a YEC without the Bible (or some other religion) if we are to base our conclusions on this discussion. There may be some who would do argue for YEC without religion but none of them have come up in this thread so far. So I thought the thread mostly closed until such a person (or one who know of such a person) came.

Re: YEC is implied in Bible.
While intersting, it's not really on topic Anyway, do you agree we need the Bible in order to arrive at a YEC conclusion given the evidences? So far (I may have missed it) in this thread, it seems the Bible is need for a YEC.
