A Clarification: This is a debate board!
randman writes:
It is off-topic, but if you want to review some of the Haeckel threads and my debate on this topic, you can see some of what you want addressed. Considering the numbers of hours presented, I think duplicating those efforts is unreasonable. Take the time to read those threads.
The nature of the creation/evolution debate is repetitive. Any issue raised has likely been discussed here many times before. EvC Forum attracts around 30 new members per week, and each new member is entitled to discuss topics from scratch without being required to read old threads, and it will often happen that old issues get rediscussed among old members as issues are rarely settled in any final fashion.
In other words, this is a debate board, not a summer reading list. Past participation here does not relieve you of the responsibility of actually debating. You do not at any point achieve the status of Debater Emeritus who need only provide references to old threads. If you make a point in a thread you're expected to support it with evidence and argument in the very same thread. Providing helpful references is a good idea, but they should only be used in an auxiliary manner.

Re: A Clarification: This is a debate board!
Two separate things were being pointed out to you:
  • First, AdminNosy pointed out that you were posting off topic.
  • Second, I responded to your suggestion to someone to read old threads by pointing out that you can't make your points just by referencing old threads. In other words, and using Haeckel as an example, not only is Haeckel off-topic in this thread, in threads where he is on-topic you still can't make your points just by referencing old threads.
If you'd like to discuss evolution's weak scientific foundation then please propose a thread or resurrect an old one. The main idea is to keep threads focused on their primary topic.
