No, God is just playing 'fast and loose' with definitions. DNA, like all molecules, is 3 dimensional. A helix is, after all, a 3d shape.
The genetic code, however, only uses one of these dimensions (well, maybe two...depends if you count the complementary strand as being part of the same code, or just a copy of the other code).
