Re: Problems of evolution taught in school
You seem to be making one really really big error that lots of people who only read creationist sites rather than speaking to people actually make.

Evolutionist does not equal Atheist.

They are totally seperate and unconnected. Yes most atheists are evolutionists, but it does not follow that all evolutionists are atheists.

Do you understand what I am saying?

Re: Problems of evolution taught in school
At least wait until I make more arguable mistakes.

OK, oh look, here is a big one!

I define an evolutionist as someone who does not believe in a Creator and accepts the theories of evolution as to the origin of life.

What does the theory of evolution have to do with the origins of life?

Evolution does equal Atheism, again if you have a better term, I will be glad to use it.

So Jar the christian is really a atheist? Jar, did you know this?

Re: Problems of evolution taught in school
As a small point of order (And I'm clearly not a mod) - a discussion of "why genesis is not a literal account" would be beyond the remit of this thread.

Can we try and drift back to the point?

Jason - I see that you are new, if you want to discuss those issues in more detail, I suggest that you propose a new topic.

Re: Problems of evolution taught in school
Remember, for most Christians, there is no conflict in viewpoint or reason to find errors in the TOE. In fact, I find my faith reenforced by what has been learned of Evolution and the TOE.

just to add to that - over the water (The UK), creationism is seen as a strange american abberation by the vast majority of Christians.

That's actually what happened to me - I asked questions, people told me lies and I thought "hold on a minute!"

Re: Problems of evolution taught in school
Jason - as I have mentioned if you want to discuss a particular burning issue that is not being covered by the board - propose a topic.

Re: Problems of evolution taught in school
I sense a degree of hostility and arrogance in this thread that says if you take the bible as literal truth then you are a fool.

I'd use the term "deluded" myself.

Re: Problems of evolution taught in school
The reason evolutionists don't want evolution questioned or discussed in schools is because they have a higher agenda of fighting Christianity and its influence in society.

You have ANY evidence for this very silly idea?
