Rrhain for being meticulous

I always enjoy these posts of Rrhains. They are executed surgically.

Includes quotes from Charles Hard Townes, Baptist preacher and a Berkeley Nobel Prize winning physicist, about the co-existence of Christian faith and worldly reality. Offhand, Towns seems to take the same position as Kenneth Miller, author of Finding Darwin' God.
Debate the topic there, not here.

IMO, need to also plug this message into the related, and even newer Death of a Scotsman (Re: the "no true Scotsman" fallacy) topic.

As far as Moose POTM nominations go, Omnivorous seems to have replaced Holmes.
The cited topic is piling up messages fast. It was already to about message 45 by the time I saw it, post PNT version.
The cited message happened early on. I like it.
See previous message 36 also. I presume that MtW has also posted simular thoughts at the "Death..." topic.

You are fast becoming one of my favorite reads, so its unlikely I'll come gunning for you. Often I feel you're like reading my own thoughts but with a smoother style. With the slowdown of Ben and RAZD you've certainly become my POTM (poster of the month).
Of course if I did come gunning, maybe that'd make a good read in and of itself.

Who Cares.....
As Moose asked if I'd nominate Crash's post #46 Death of a Scotsman thread I feel his post was concise and a good example of how someone who may be an atheist and hold different views; still respects other's beliefs dispite whether or not they are logical or rational. I was glad I read it. *edit diction.

I'll nominate EZScience for a great summary of a thread that went all over the place.

Holmes and Monsters Under the Bed

The monsters under the bed analogy is one of best I've seen for a discussion of science's priorities and methodologies.
The rest of the post is top-notch, too, of course, but I'd decided on this nomination by the end of the second paragraph.

A shortish post which entertainingly makes an important point. My only quibble is that the explanitory final paragraph might not be needed.

I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then

I'll second that nomination. You beat me to it.
And that final paragraph is needed. On the net, parody is often taken literally, and we do have some literalists among our membership.
