Re: Holmes and Monsters Under the Bed
I'd decided on this nomination by the end of the second paragraph.
Cool... thanks. I did feel sort of perked when I thought of the analogy, glad to see it worked for someone else.

Modulous and Existentialist Joy
Author: Modulous
Forum: Faith and Belief
Thread: Who's afraid of a godless universe?
Msg: #16
Modulous goes from contemporary music to Shakespeare to the grandeur of the universe and back, reminding us along the way that along with existentialist angst, there is also existentialist joy.
His post, like his own experience, nearly brought me to tears, too.

Re: Modulous and Existentialist Joy
I'll second that--I was thinking of nominating it myself.
Modulous is one of the best on this forum. I enjoy his intelligent posts.
Cheers.

Most everyone involved, at the "Define "Kind"" topic
Author: Lots of people
Forum: Biological Evolution
Thread: Define "Kind"
Message: Most of them
A heavy load fell upon Faith, as being the only (or at least very primary) "pro Kinds" advocate. She has handled it well, even if the non-admin mode isn't buying any of her arguments.
The topic had great potential for becoming a total disaster area. Despite having accumulated 128 messages in 10 hours, it didn't happen. We have a miracle - Enlightening information was presented!
There were a few messages that probably merit individual POTM nominations, but I will leave that to others.
Remember, the place to debate the topic is there, not here.

Re: Modulous and Existentialist Joy
Thanks Omni+Michael, I was fighting back tears when I wrote it. Occasionally my 'soul' bursts forth like that. Going into the countryside and looking at the night sky is guaranteed to set me off on that thought mode. Tis why I embrace pantheism so.
Of all the posts I have written, and the several POTMs I've received, this is one of my favourites. Thanks again for enjoying it with me.

Oh thank you Mike.
I haven't had a POTM in maybe two years and I get one for plagerizing others ideas.
Let me hunt around in other thread for something to copy.

Some people just can't handle compliments - I'm sure Nosy is very pleased and flattered!

Hey
I wasn't being sarcastic. Rereading it I'm sure it sounds like that but I wasn't.
You're right I was pleased to be noticed. Just that there are a lot of others making better posts every day that don't get POTM'd.

randman grinds 'em out
Author: Randman
Forum: Coffee house
Thread: A closer look a Pat Robertson

EvC Forum: A Closer Look at Pat Robertson
FreddyFlash starts at message 144 and in the course of 3 posts puts up 26 paragraphs 25 of which end in a question mark. Randman politely churns out (for an Irishman man unfamiliar with the impregnation/birth of a nation) knowledgeable sounding answers. This man is a machine!
(whilst referring back to check, I see that Freddy has posted again. This time 11 of the 12 paragraphs end in question marks (10 in fact, one is missing the ?)

I'll try not to make a habit of just seconding nominations for POTM.
I did a quick read through that series of posts--while I can't vouch for the facts they contain, it appears that Randman has provided us with some messages without vitriol. I very much appreciate that. I think I might have lost patience with Freddy before now had I been in Randman's place.
If Randman can continue in this way I will be much more likely to pay attention to him.
My opinion, for what it's worth.
Well done.
Cheers.
