Re: Dinosaurs
and 47% believe the earth to be created within the last 10 thousand years.
That is only a very sad comment on just how crappy we have allowed our educational system to become. About the same percentage of the American public don't know that the Earth orbits the Sun once a year.

Re: I do not doubt...
Seriously, I don't doubt that Dr. Hovind has research of his own that would disagree with many other creationists.
Mr Hovind has yet to present any research of his own - only quote-mining and wild-to-altogether-goofy assertions. And the same goes for nearly everything the entire YEC bunch has done: I can think of maybe two examples where any of them have done any research whatsoever beyond the armchair speculation kind.

Re: C14
Carbon dating of Egyptian Mummies gives the same dates that we get from decoding the
And carbon dating of interior parts of the Siloam Tunnel gives a date consistent with the reign of Hezekiah, for those who think that mummies are a bit dodgy.

Pressie, that's rather an impressive debunking. No wonder Peczis/Woodmorappe is also known as "Whatmorecrap."
And welcome to EvC!!

Re: aesearcRe: Schweitzer
Mazzy, the article you quote says, "Then a chemical process must have mineralized the tissue before bacteria ate it."
Does that sound like "intact tissue," or more like "intact fossilized tissue?" There is a distinction there.....
And I wonder where/if the formal paper on "dakota" was published?

Re: Mineralized soft-tissue paper
Thanks greatly, DBlevins!
Mazzy, I recommend the paper DB found for us. If you will read it and ask questions, I can answer the chemistry ones - I do chemistry for a living. Other folks here can answer geology or anatomy questions. I don't think you will find much discarding of evidence. Try us out.
