I would say that if you want to push God out of the picture then the abiogenesis hypothesis is certainly doing no pushing for you. In fact, it is one more weak link in the materialist position. It is no secret that the recent abiogenesis position has grown quite gloomy for the materialists.
Walter Bradley said, There isn’t any doubt that science, for the moment at least, is at a dead end. The optimism of the 1950’s is gone. The mood at the 1999 international conference on the origin of life was described as grimfull of frustration, pessimism, and desperation.

I would say that my church services are far more upbeat and joyful than abiogenesis conferences. The truth does set you free!
I also cite the following:
Nobel prize winner, Sir Francis Crick, the co-discoverer of DNA said,
The origin of life appears almost a miracle, so many are the conditions which would have had to be satisfied to get it going . Every time I write a paper on the origin of life, I swear I will never write another one, because there is too much speculation running after too few facts.
I would also say if you want to get into the origin of the species ballpark you need to go in by the origin of life gate. So far the materialist have not earned the right to even be remotely considered to be let into the ballpark.
I also cite the following:
WHY THE FIRST LIFE ON EARTH DID NOT ARISE NATURALLY

RAZD
What is the third option?
Little green men? Where did the little green men come from? Little purple men? Where did the little purple men come from? Little blue men?
Sooner or later you are going to run out of colors!

Yet surely there are instances of two?
For example;
1.My car can go forward or backwards.
2.When I drive today, I won't go backwards.
C.Today - I went forward.
"A limited number of options (usually two) is given, while in reality there are more options"
In reality, there is also an instance of a few options or two or one. No just "more options".

Pushing God out of the picture? I wasn't aware that he was ever even in the picture.

Re: to: chiro
I'm actually quite serious. You presented the opinion of someone who is predisposed against the science of abiogenesis and who is not a worker in the field. I would be interested to find out whether those who actually participated in the conference found the mood so dark.
As I recall, in the atheism thread you were the one concerned with whether an opinion comes from an "unimpeachable source".

to chiro:
I am not going further unless you show me Mr. Bradley is unable to discern the mood of a room or would willingly deceive the public. Please show me evidence of his past duplicity so I can make this inference. Given Mr. Crick's comment I do not find it a gigantic leap of faith to give Mr. Bradley the benefit of the doubt. I also have noticed a discernible state of avoidance when I bring up the subject of abiogeneis theory to materialist.
Sincerely,
Ken

Re: RAZD
Where did God come from? The proto God? Where did the proto God come from the proto mother of the proto God? Sooner or later you are going to run out of Gods?
No way, IT'S TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN!
So much for logic eh! let's just toss it out. Life is so much more fun when you can just believe whatever you want without logic or evidence, isn't it? Have fun, enjoy yourself, but don't do science.

Re: RAZD
That would be true if a book full of fulfilled prophecies did not say God is eternal.

Filled equals what percent?
Full of prophecies? Like it's nothing but prophecy?
Full of fulfilled prophecy?
How many prophecies and how many are fulfilled by evidence outside the bible.
I won't for example count Exodus as that is a prophecy and fulfillment told entirely within the Bible without direct support in history or archaeology.

No, I think it was you who set the standard that the source has to be shown to be an unimpeachable source. Remember? It was in response to when I said that I was an atheist. You have not yet shown that I am unable to discern my own beliefs.
