mike the wiz responds to crashfrog:
quote:
Crash , if your ever in real trouble, ask Jesus for help.
He did, mike. Didn't you read his post?
But I prayed. I didn't get a response. And this was when I really, truly believed in God.
How come it works for you and not for me?
What part of "I prayed" don't you understand? What part of "I really, truly believed in God" don't you understand?
Why is it that it works for you and not for crash? It can't be a question of faith because crash had it.

John writes:
quote:
But had Adam not let sin into the world
But Adam didn't sin. He was innocent. Since he hadn't eaten from the Tree of Knowledge, he had no idea that eating from the Tree of Knowledge was a sin. Sin requires knowledge of right and wrong and making the deliberate choice to do what you know to be wrong. Since Adam didn't know good and evil, he couldn't possibly sin.
Now, what Adam and Eve did after they ate from the Tree, well, that isn't mentioned. But the eating from the Tree wasn't a sin because neither Adam nor Eve had eaten from the Tree yet and thus, they didn't know what they were doing.

isnt disobeying God a sin?
Not if you don't know what you're doing.
Adam and Eve hadn't eaten from the Tree of Knowledge, yet, therefore they didn't know what they were doing when they ate from the Tree of Knowledge.
Let me remind you of this verse:
Genesis 2:25: And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
And what is the first thing Adam and Eve panic over when they do eat from the Tree? Is it, "Oh, no! We ate from the Tree!" No, the very first thing they panic over is the fact that they're naked.
So being naked is a sin and Adam and Eve didn't know they were committing it...and god didn't care.
So why all the fuss over the Tree?
quote:
Adam and Eve did in fact sin
No, they didn't. They couldn't. They didn't understand the difference between good and evil and thus were incapable of sinning since sin requires comprehension of what you're doing.
quote:
he did what was right in his eyes, and not what was right in the eyes of God.
How could he do "what was right" in anybody's eyes when he didn't know what "right" was?
That's the big problem with Genesis 3: It assumes that Adam and Eve understood right and wrong *before* they ate from the Tree and gained the ability to understand right and wrong.
If you have a delicate Mhing vase, you don't leave it on a wobbly pedestal with a toddler in the room. No matter how much you tell the toddler not to touch, he doesn't understand.
