isnt disobeying God a sin?
Not if you don't know what you're doing.
Adam and Eve hadn't eaten from the Tree of Knowledge, yet, therefore they didn't know what they were doing when they ate from the Tree of Knowledge.
Let me remind you of this verse:
Genesis 2:25: And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
And what is the first thing Adam and Eve panic over when they do eat from the Tree? Is it, "Oh, no! We ate from the Tree!" No, the very first thing they panic over is the fact that they're naked.
So being naked is a sin and Adam and Eve didn't know they were committing it...and god didn't care.
So why all the fuss over the Tree?
quote:
Adam and Eve did in fact sin
No, they didn't. They couldn't. They didn't understand the difference between good and evil and thus were incapable of sinning since sin requires comprehension of what you're doing.
quote:
he did what was right in his eyes, and not what was right in the eyes of God.
How could he do "what was right" in anybody's eyes when he didn't know what "right" was?
That's the big problem with Genesis 3: It assumes that Adam and Eve understood right and wrong *before* they ate from the Tree and gained the ability to understand right and wrong.
If you have a delicate Mhing vase, you don't leave it on a wobbly pedestal with a toddler in the room. No matter how much you tell the toddler not to touch, he doesn't understand.
