Re: Biggest and Badest?

Yah, it's pretty shocking to most people. That's an example of ignorance. Ignorance isn't as bad as most people can say, but it can hurt you. Ignorance is simply the unknown.
Not harping on definitions or opinions, but to me ignorance is not knowing when knowledge is accessible. And I agree, ignorance is damaging both to the individual and society as a whole.

On a side note, do you think there is a significance to death? That there is a possibility that there is such thing as a God and the ethereal? Things like that can not be scientifically proven.
I think of myself as an agnostic, as in there are things that could exist that I can never have knowledge of. I am open to the idea that there could be an afterlife, but tend to hedge my bet that my corporeal existence is the only one I will ever have. I am guaranteed experiences now, so why not take advantage of it?
Also, I see organized religion as a step in the wrong direction (don't get angry with me, just an opinion). I can't see how one person, or one group has it right and all other religions are wrong. If the supernatural and gods do exist, they are probably beyond human understanding and therefore beyond the purveiw of human logic and reasoning. Anyway, nice gabbing with you.

Re: absodarmnlutely
Maybe YEC logic will some day wend its wheel you're way again. TV only shows oo$ so there is no reason why synthetically you are not connecting. It's just the "not on topic" thing again. But this time I got speculative reason behind Gothic City.

Re: Biggest and Badest?
Yah, I feel what you're saying.
Though I am a fundamental Christian, I also believe that organized religion is a bad thing. The church, though unified, is supposed to carry out its functions individually. I don't, however, see anything wrong with people with the same belief system to congregate and discuss things of that nature; after all, it is also in the Bible.
Because I am an open-minded person, I consider all things before I make a final decision. As for the various religions, one must carefully analyze what they are getting into. Christianity is only religion that has no serious drawbacks, as long as you don't take everything literally. Admittedly, most religions have various concepts that are, indeed, veritable, but I haven't found a lie in the Bible.
God would be beyond human intellect, and so would an afterlife. The intellect can not decipher the ethereal. I know people (and things) do not have these various abilities for no reason, and must have been a thought in an intelligent Being's mind. Everything in this world has a function, though many times it is abused.

What happens?
I guess its impossible to know what happens when we die until we finally die. I just wish someone would have the courtesy to come back and tell us a little more about it.

Will to live
This can all get very depressing when we question the will to live. Hopefully if you ever get that way a quick call to the Good Samaritans will instil the virtues of life and its advantages.
What is the alternative to having a will to live? Is it depression, loss of loved ones and family and a rapid degeration into a feeling of self worthlessness?
Everyone can get down once in a while but most people thankfully never lose their will to live. Christianity and other religions are helpful to those that have lost their way or as a rule of life for keeping people on track with daily life and a purpose with something to look forward to at the end.
I can't see myself sitting on a cloud somewhere with a harp amongst fellow angels. I think life ends when we die and our purpose in life it to ensure the continuation of our species. Ive done my bit now Im off for a vasectomy. From now on its all downhill...
