Just to note, the conflicts usually involve AdMoose. AdMoose does not like those who post "too often" i.e. crashfrog. Now crashfrog posts less and AdMoose way more. AdMoose does not like posts that are humorous. Decreased humorous posts are evident. Subsequent to the humor bashing, AdMoose posts an April Fool's joke. AdMoose states that creationists need "special protection" on this board. Desdamona subsequently gets booted. I claim that Syamsu violates just about every forum rule every time he posts. AdMoose says to just ignore him. Everyone but Syamsu gets forum rules rammed down their throats by AdMoose at just about every turn. I can predict when NosyNed or Asgara might step in to moderate...Moose is unpredictable (unless SLPx is involved). So I don't see things as an overall condemning of EvC Admin/moderating per se...just that it would be nice to know what is up with AdMoose these days and why the sudden overboard micromanagement?
I can see that one would like for debates to stay on topic, for civility to be maintained, and for topics worth discussing to be put forward. But how is micromanaged and completely inconsistent moderating supposed to achieve this? In the end, the debates will go nowhere and the people debating will go seeking greener pastures. Was the quality of EvC so low before this massive moderating frenzy and is it really so much better now?
