You know Wise, you're absolutely right.Galileo only published his book because the church told him to do otherwise. The church knew exactly how to manipulate him, they knew what made him tick. They knew "if we tell Galileo NOT to expose what we are telling people is THE TRUTH handed down by GOD and reveal that WE ARE KNOWINGLY LYING TO THE VERY PEOPLE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SAVING, then he's GOING TO WRITE something in SIXTEEN YEARS and EXPOSE OUR FRAUDULENCE. How do you account for this?

Well, I imagine that if you add up the Greeks and the Trojans, you get way more than 500. Plus I've heard that we have archeological evidence from the site of ancient Troy, so we know that city existed.By your standards that's more than enough to "prove" that the Trojan War (complete with the Horse) happened, and that Zeus and the Pantheon exist.

Yep. God knew. So, Wise... you are telling us that a God who knew the full truth would allow his representatives on Earth, the CHURCH to *lie* to people in HIS name? He allowed these representatives to claim that this *lie* was the God's Honest Truth of the universe and punish people with death who claimed otherwise?

There were over 500 witnesses as I have described to you. I'm not sure what all at once means. The catacombs are pretty irrelevant. There weren't catacombs as far as I can see, but there was a pretty big wall!

This topic seems to me analogous to a group of people hovering around a cage with a rabid animal with sticks... all taking their turns at poking the animal to see what it does...so I’d like my turn now.So Wise... if God has planned this all out, obviously he has planned out the increase in logical reasoning and thinking in the world, and the decrease of the power of the church... so why are you going against God's will? Stop getting in the way of progress (both of humanity and your religion)... Unless your opposition to claims that the bible should not be seen as a historical document is in some way part of God's plan too... but it seems like God and all of his creation is just one big giant oxymoron.
