There is no need to be a creationist to see of the flaws in evolutionary beliefs and reject them for what they are, a belief.
Some people believe the evidence speaks for itself and some others do not believe in evaluating evidence, because they absurdly think they already know everything, or worse, they are so intellectually lazy they let others do their thinking for them.
Ultimately evolution is a religion masquerading as a science discipline
If you think that, I doubt you know as much as you think you do about either science or religion.
Normal (as opposed to pseudo) science is about the evidence, and the evidence for descent with modification in lifeforms is utterly overwhelming.
Religion at its best, is about examining various ancient tomes for clues as to how one should behave, and at its worst is about blind unquestioning obedience to a dishonest and corrupt mortal authority figure.
Of course one would have to evaluate such evidence with an open mind to know this fact, a feat difficult at best for the most conscientious, and impossible for those who are not allowed to examine their beliefs, for whatever reason.

The idea of the sacred is quite simply one of the most conservative notions in any culture, because it seeks to turn other ideas - uncertainty, progress, change - into crimes.

This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces. It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It’s us. Only us. - the character Rorschach in Watchmen
