Hi, gen. Welcome to EvC.
Please don't argue in this one...
You do realize that this is a debate site, right? Whose purpose is so that people can debate points, right?
-
...because you won't change my beliefs, no matter what you say.
Change your beliefs about what? Why do you think anyone wants to change your beliefs, especially when no one here really knows what your beliefs are?

Look, Brian, I'm off-topic too!

God created us, and has a right to take our life away.
Huh? Whoa! Wait! How does this follow? Even if God created us, how does that give him any rights over us?

John, for example, was written something like 300 years later, IIRC.
Matthew: 70-100 CE
Mark: 65-75 CE
Luke: 60-100 CE
John: 90-100 CE
But it is a good question as to whether any of the authors were actual eye-witnesses. Matthew and Luke were probably based in part on Mark, and all three may have made significant use of the hypothetical Q gospel. As you point out, John is way out there -- anyone reading it is sure to notice that it belongs to a completely different early Christian tradition, probably proto-Gnostic.
Of course, there is nothing that says eye-witnesses can't make use of other documents in recounting their story. But it is still a good question as to how much, if any, of the events in the gospels actually took place.

Thanks, but that really doesn't answer the question.
You made the claim that God has the right to take our lives away. I'm asking why does God have the right to take our lives away? Even if God created us, why does that give him the right to take our lives away?

Still begging the question
Sorry. I didn't notice that I had a reply to my last post in this thread.
So God has the right to take our lives because we have sinned....
So? Why would that give any god any rights over our lives? It's a purely subjective notion what counts as sin anyways. What gives god the right to decide what's good and bad and to punish those he thinks are bad?
(And we won't even go into that half-assed bizarre "death on the cross" way he came up with to get out of this.)
