Getting in right
Hey, Pilgrim,
Thought that your post was right on target, and deserved a response. That God is love, and that God created Hell, and that people who choose death, who refuse to choose the fear of God end up there, are simply part of a picture. The task is not to set our logic up to judge, and possibly throw out the picture. It's to enter in as fully as possible, asking for understanding, and let the Spirit make sense of it all as we mature. What's the sense in a five year old saying, "I don't see how calculus can work, so I'm not going to learn to add?"
But, how do you understand "Receive the love of the truth?" or "Buy the truth, and do not sell it." What really is love? What really is the truth?
Thanks for letting your light shine.
Stephen

Passionate love.
Rand Al'thor,
Passionate love, coupled with jealousy, makes Hell reasonable. If God loves as He is supposed to, then those who hurt those He loves, and those who betray His love, cause Him such deep pain that they deserve Hell. It's only just.

Re: Passionate love.

Actually, I think He invented Hell for those who cause Him pain through their destruction of His children. (Stumbling blocks, who cause the little ones who love Me to sin). He throws them in. Those who betray Him, He does turn the other cheek, until they leave Him alone. But, entropy happens, and they fall into Hell on their own.
Remember, it's a pit. You can jump in, fall in, or be thrown in. Most, I understand, just fall it. Jehovah shrugs, and says, "Hey, I offered to help them avoid that sucker, but they said they wanted to take care of themselves."
Yeshua made this comment about His beloved Holy Spirit. "You can hurt me, and I will forgive you. But you blaspheme the Holy Spirit, and I'll see that you never get forgiven!"
But my main point is, the more you love, the deeper the pain you can feel. We cannot therefor imagine how Jehovah is hurt.

Re: Passionate love.
Smitty500,
My assurance of heaven comes from faith which comes from hearing. I am very diligent to be sure of my election and calling, pressing daily into the presence of God with my question, "How are we doing, Lord." When He tells me, like the song says, "you are my own." I get faith for heaven.
Once, unwilling to give up all that He was asking me to, to walk with Him, I asked Him to take me to Hell, so help me make a decision. He did! It was horrible, worse than any torture or inquisition I had ever heard of. And hopeless. The suffering just kept getting worse and worse, with no shock, or death, or unconsciousness to even hope to end it. So, I got serious.

R.
You got the memo, you just tossed it without reading it. Like with
the flat earthers, the evidence is subtle enough to ignore, if you try hard enough.
