regarding 'end-times' in the bible. In fact, the term 'big bang' comes to mind when I look at it. See Revelation 15 and 16 - plagues, for starters. I understand that Revelation is difficult to read and understand. Compare with Exodus 9. Luke 21:25, 26, ..... there will be wars and rumors of wars......and perilous times shall come. Perhaps things are not so perilous yet...or are they? Please understand that every generation since Christ's sojourn on this planet has indulged in the blessed hope of his soon return. But of that time and hour no one is informed. Only the Father knows when exactly that will be. Are you ready?Cactus and Scrub and yellow grass
read the plagues' passages in Revelation? The plagues are successive, the way they were in Exodus with the final one being Armageddon (conveniently located in the Middle East). You may adapt anything you wish to anything you wish, it is our nature to look for reasons, causes. What has been are mild versions of what is yet to come. May I recommend a book I found an interesting study help. It is called 'Daniel and the Revelation' by Uriah Smith. I have accessed it on the net in the past, don't know if it is still possible.
666 vicarius filii dei? in latin, greek, and aramaic - count it out. There is no one else who fits that criteria.
he has been around for a long time revelation calls him the 'whore that sits upon the nations' - denotes world-government-dominion to me - he calls himself god on earth - and so on, he wears the triple crown, he says he is God's rep on earth, blaspheming the Holy Spirit who IS God's rep on earth. Try it, let me know your conclusions.
you are on the right track, just off by an ocean. LOL It needs to be on a larger scale. Koresh was news around the world for a season, but then drifted into oblivion with occasional reiterations. And also, the number of his name, does it add up to 666? Whereas his evil was very great, there is another who tops him by many millions. Koresh also did not sit upon the nations they way the real beast did/does. Are you a history buff? Do you know anything of church history? Get yourself that book 'Daniel and the Revelation' by Uriah Smith. Even if you don't believe a word in it, it will still take you someplace you have never been, deeper yet.Cactus and Scrub and yellow grass
power is of a different nature, a religious nature, and long since established as such. Its influence is felt worldwide, it makes no bones about its intent, but does not have the horrible power it once had, when millions succumbed to its destruction. The beast has a name that adds up to the number 666 that number is more than adequately represented in the name vicarius filii dei - and so is the power and intent of the man who has this name. Look up the name. Then tell me who it is.
that he saw in a dream and Daniel explained the meaning of....is about kingdoms, starting with Babylon, the golden head, all the way down to the feet of the image depicting clay mixed with iron, depicting 'kingdoms' and their powers in our time. Some weak, some strong. That is what we have today. Some weak and some strong. Believe it or not.
or world empires did exist. From Nebuchad on down to Rome, successively weaker, no more world empire as understood in terms of those empires after Rome. After Rome, the feet of clay mixed with iron. Greece was only one of them, the Medes and Persians were as well. Daniel lived during the first one. That represented by the golden head of the image of the dream of the king. No other empires/kingdoms like those have existed or will again. Have you read it in the book of Daniel? How did he know? Good guess?
