Their first mistake was attacking God's people. I do not think that is the case since they were attacking people who did not believe in their god. Perhaps they were under direction of their god to do so and were thereby justfied by your logic.They erred in not completely eliminating the entire people.They were,in that sense,merciful compared to the Israelites. Of course you will counter with the silly claim that the Israelites had the one true god. sigh

You have stumbled upon a great truth. They were under the direction of their god- Satan. Again, the Amalekites were not merciful, the Israelis were able to drive them off but, not before the damage was done.

And there it is, the God defender eschews arguments which actually refer to the subject of the thread in favor of simply accusing us all of serving Satan. I think that wraps up my involvement with this thread. Dpardo, have a wonderful Christmas. And may I say how vastly entertaining it has been to find someone willing to take the "pro" position in a debate on the morality of baby slaughtering.

God cares if people suffer. He pronounced rules specifically so that we would not suffer. It is the violation of these rules that causes suffering. If you violate these rules, you will suffer and may cause your children to suffer. Is this not consistent with what you see on earth?
