Re: King James was a Poon
Does it really matter? I'm sure whichever one I say (I've got more than one around the house and they're different versions) will not be the true scripture, but really they aren't. They've all been edited and I have no doubt the 'editor' and his own prejudices were imputed into most of the books.
The main point is that there is a benevolent omnipotent God that sent himself as a man in the form of Jesus to die for our sins. That part hasn't been changed and that's the main point. So why sweat the small stuff?

Wanna feel God? Step onto the wrestling mat and you'd be crazy to deny the uplifting spirit.

Re: King James was a Poon
my preacher just preached a message on the small things, they matter.
jesus did come to earth and he was the word and left the word that we might know how to serve the lord.

I am no longer christen Because Back when I was around 15 or 16 I became Interested In Dinosaurs. I Became Amazed by Evolution and how it made so much sense... and all the evidence it had to it...
also when I started I questioning my Faith I also Became interested in other religons... I own many other holy books beside the christen bible... have you ever looked up another religion?

Exactly!! With that message why would everone get in a knot over a flood or the age of the earth (which the Bible doesn't give) or the unfolding of life on the planet, which the Bible doesn't discuss.

Speaking as someone that speaks 2 languages fluently and 1 other language at an intermediate level, some translations are not that accurate.
For example, in French there are no words for cool and warm. It takes a whole sentence to describe either of these 2 words. In Vietnamese, there are no words for sex and sodomy, just to name a couple. I have read some books in English, French, and Vietnamese translations. I can definitely tell you that there are instances in those books where the ideas are somewhat different with one another, even though they are translations of the same books.
Since you claimed to believe that the King James Version is the one true version, could you explain just how the translators at the time got around these problems of translating from one language to another?

Let the dead bury their dead
Does that mean all Christians should eventually cut all ties with their family members who are not Christians? Can we not love people who are not Christians? I dearly love my family members and even if they believe differently, I don't think they are godless or 'dead in their sins'. I live close to my family members and regularly visit them. Should I move to the other side of the country and say I want nothing to do with them anymore because I am now a follower of Christ and they are not? The church I go to has as one of their goals to have people 'engage in meaningful relationships with unbelievers' in order to try and bring them closer to God.
Jesus says He comes to divide families. Could He be talking about people severing their ties with their families because their family members are expressly anti-Christian? Or could He be talking about the fact that people will go to Heaven with Him and leave their family members behind because they are 'dead in their sins'?
I mean, I could actually have a chance at bringing my loved ones closer to God. If I leave them, I can be sure that this will never happen. In fact, if I leave them, they will think that this Christianity is a really awful religion to make people abandon those they love...

i am not sure.
i have no solid evidence that u would believe.
those books were wrong because they contradicted the rest of the bible, god would not say something and then dissagree with himself. and i didnt find them to be false the puritan did.
mine is true because it is the most accurate, most anyone will tell u that, its the most accurate because so many translated it and aggreed that the synonyms used were as accurate as they r going to get, by the way the king james points out the words that were added to make more sense very clearly, unlike most other bibles. and yes i agree with u lam it must have some inaccuracys but its the most accurate translation there is, if u could read the original languages that the bible was written in great, but most cant.
