That wasn't a very Christian response......
There are many Christians, the majority even, that find no contradiction between God and evolution.
As an ex science teacher I wish evolution
could be questioned in school science classes. A deeper appreciation of the theory would be attained by students if that were possible. It should be able to be questioned on scientific grounds. But not religious grounds.
It is a sad fact that the only reason anyone actually questions evolutionary theory in practise is in order to replace one of the most solidly verified scientific theories ever with deeply held but totally unsubstantiated tales of magical creation of some sort.
This is done more often than not by those who do not understand evolution, do not understand science, do not understand the nature of evidence and who in many cases arguably do not understand the bible either.
That is why those who understand evolution get so defensive about it. Evolution is constantly under attack for misguided philosophical reasons which have nothing to do with science at all.
